Wikipedia asserts that this title was given by Medieval scholars to the northernmost points of the world. It is the Japanese Bend of Time.

The Bend of Time is then an actual piece of Japanese Mythology? I didn't know that. I knew of Ultima Thule as being the island at the top of the world, though.
