I noticed in one of the articles that you mentioned Vicks and Wedge were in another Square game. Well I read an article in "Gamepro" Mag 4 years ago. They said that Vicks and Wedge were characters from "Star Wars". One was Luke's Idol in Tatoone and died during the fight agaisnt the star destroyer. The other was Luke's Wing man.

Vicks was later renamed "Biggs", another of Luke's wingmates.

This has nothing to do with Crono Analysis, there's already a topic with this in General :P

It's the other way round, Biggs was originally mistranslated as "Vicks".

Quite right.  There was no Vicks in Star Wars.  Biggs Darklighter was Luke's childhood friend form Tatoonie, whom Luke envied (not idlolized) because he left home well before Luke's Uncle Owen was going to allow him to leave.  I believe that the plan was for them both to join the Imperial Academy, learn what the could from the mightiest military in the galaxy, then defect to the Rebellion.  That's the route Biggs took.  Luke never had the chance.

Wedge Antiles, was a minor character in the first movie, though he becomes more important in the Expanded Universe  novels.  He was Luke's wingman in the run on the Death Star, got hit and had to pull out.  As such, he is one of three Alliance members to survive the attack.  (Luke, Wedge, and a third unnamed Y-wing pilot who's name would only be reveled later in the X-Wings series of novels).  Han doesn't count since he was not an Alliance member at the time.

All this geeky Star Wars knowledge, and I'm still getting some every night!  You see boys and girls, you CAN have it both ways!

They are one of the "recurring" elements in FF, because they also appear in 8 and 9

Well... I was looking at FF Compendium...

and they say those guys weren't in 9.

As well, characters named Wedge and Biggs have been in 6, 7, 8, 10, and TA (and also have cameo roles in another Squaresoft game, Chrono Trigger).
