But doesn't Wi-Fi require "hotspots?"

Not neccisarily. I have wi-fi in my apartment, and it's certainly not a public hotspot. The Revolution is designed to use your existing internet connection. It can use wireless, but my understanding is that you can use a wired connection if you don't have a wireless router.

It's cool, our local mall is Wi-Fi'd so we could just have a bunch of PSPers there to versus each other...y'know...if they didn't feel like doing it at home or something...>_> Plus you can just take your laptop there of course...

Obviously you're mistaking the XBOX 360 w/a PC...oh wait! The 360 IS a PC! Look at it! Microsoft totally stole the design from a friggin Dell!

If any "Jet Set Radio" game equals pwned to the proverbial max...then you're living in a small, dillusional little world there...and I want nothing of it.

wat about the ps2? Wasn't it out first? Dreamcast does not count. Its dead. Accept it. And plus, dreamcast is usually associated with n64 and ps1

Wow, you're totally into Jet Set Radio (for no good reason ) and yet you discount the Dreamcast? Ironic, much?

edit: oh, and I think you meant PS1, because the PS2 wasn't out first, I'm pretty sure...

Sega - Saturn - Spring of 1995
Sony - PSX - Fall of 1995
Nintendo - N64 - 1996
Sega - Dreamcast - 1998
Sony - PS2 - 2000
Microsoft - XBOX - 2001
Nintendo - GC - 2001

I don't think that just because a system dies (no matter how early said death may or may not have occured) that you should discount them from having been in the race.

Oh, and those figures are Googled...they could be wrong...

It doesnt matter close range. But if DS can be used like a psp, and do stuff with revo (what? play movies. obviously not) THEN it would need hotspots

Do you actually now what a hotspot is? DS to Revolution connectivity will be as simple as DS to DS connectivity. No "hotspots" needed. As long as the two systems are in range, they can detect each other, and you're good to go.

I mean like if animal crossing goes to revo, then you could play DS with Revo ONLINE, which would need hotspots

Animal Crossing DS has online capabilities, independant of the Revolution. All it needs is a wireless signal. Doesn't have to be from a "hotspot" per se, but any wireless internet connection will do. I'll be able to use the wireless router in my apartment to play DS and Revolution games online. No need for a "hotspot", no need to leave the comfort of my own home.

The XBox and GameCube came out within the same month.  PS2 came out a year earlyer.  I'm positive on that.  At least in America.

Revolution will have free online capabilites.  So unless Microsoft scraps XBox LIVE, and makes it free, then its gonna get its ass beaten with online play.  For online play, it (Rev) will be able to use wireless routers, hotspots, and they are also pushing (from what I've read) to get hotspots put in local stores that sell games and such.  My memory might be failing me.  But its a simple fact that the XBox 360 is looking to get beat.
