Anyone listen to them? They may be old, (early 70's, late 80's) but they sure are good.

Yes.

Heck, I think I use one of their songs in something I drew.

I agree.

How The West Was Won and Physical Graffiti are pretty good. Page is overrated but he's gots some serious chops. Few can touch him at his prime.

Ok, PLEASE tell me all of you who are posting that Pink Floyd is better have heard any of the albums besides "The Wall." I'm so tired of people who think that's what the band truly is, when almost all of their earlier albums are much superior.

Hear the song Echoes, anyone?

And I don't understand Led Zepplin...Jimmy Page is ok, but I think they're fairly uninspired.

My dad has most of their RECORDS (As in, the vinyl LPs.), starting from "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn." Or whatever the name was.

Y'know, it's too bad about Sid Barrett...I thought the stuff he worked with on their first album was pretty interesting.

Yes Syd Barret Pink Floyd was quite good. The guys a legend pretty much. I liked Barret-Floyd better in some areas of the music, like drums and wild improvisation. Also the guitar was a lot more interesting, David Gilmour always seemed to be more perfection and he's really good but really boring sometimes too. Animals is still my favorite Pink Floyd record though. It's just so visceral and cutthroat. These are my top five.

1. Animals
2. Meddle
3. Piper At The Gates of Dawn
4. Wish You Were Here
5. The Wall

I don't see how something off topic in general discussion warrants a locking. If the thread degenerates into total one word posts, its a candidate. But discussion is discussion, especially when the topic is "general."

Fair enough...it never hurts to be careful.

Anyways, yes...Meddle was a great album, in my opinion. I'm going to seem totally mainstream for this...but I really liked Dark Side of the Moon (Especially Time - original, I know >_>.)

Top 3 Songs would have to be...

1. Echoes
2. Time
3. Careful with that Axe Eugene.

1. Wish You Were Here
2. Comfortly Numb
3. Another Brick in the Wall (All parts, not just parts 1,2 and 3)
4. Ghosts in the Machine
5. Dark Side of the Moon
