Questions about the Frozen Flame
« on: December 04, 2005, 12:03:03 am »
Just some questions about the Frozen Flame...

1) When did it appear?  After Lavos was destroyed in 1999 or earlier?  Was this responsible for the change from cave people to the Zeal kingdom?  Seems to me like Ayla was evolved enough without it.

2) It can heal wounds and grant wishes, right?  How does it do that?  Does it alter history or something?

1) The Flame had splintered off from Lavos when he was about to land on Earth.
If you seriousally think Ayla is evolved, you have issues >.< *Points at her tail*
Those pre-histroic peolpe were "Apes". They only turned to "humans" apon coming in contact with the flame. It sped up their evolution, and allowed them to harness magic, that was just before Queen Zeals time.

2)The Flame can do many things with it's power. It heals the wounded with that power. It grants wishes *not literally* but bestowing that power upon the person. No real wish was ever granted in genie like terms, but it allowed people to make their own dreams come true (for instance Zealians getting infinite energy etc.)
In RD's case, the Flame responded to Schala's sadness and had her reincarnated to she could not have to suffer with her burdane.

Hey sometimes, I still think that it's possible that the Schala from the original timeline is Kid. If Schala used the power of the original flame to get her reincarnated, then it's possible that the Kid whom Lucca found was the original Schala. The pendant could have had her travel up the time stream, and since she appeared in 1004AD, it would have been after Crono and co. did their thing. That Kid may have been the one who time travelled to save Serge. And the Schala in Crono's timeline is in the DBT, and produced the Kid whom Serge travelled with. Oo

Ayla's supposed "tail" is obviously part of the animal hide she wears. Otherwise, wouldn't it be the same color as her hair instead of the same color as the rest of her clothes?

Unless you want to involve more hair dying nonsense...>_>

Lol, I hate that hair dying nonsence too.

Anyway, I guess I stand corrected Oo. But well, they are "Apes" in consideration to the humans of 2400AD. I think Chronopolis also called those people in 65,000,000BC Apes. How trivial lol.

The people there weren't apes, you can see it with your own eyes. Even in artwork, Ayla appears as a prehistoric woman, not an ape. They are 100% humans, you can see them with your eyes.

Therefore, Masato Kato either changed his opinion about the people of 65,000,000 during the development of Cross, or he never saw Ayla in-game or in artworks.

No. The only people who ever called the prehistoric humans "apes" are Azala and the weird light in the Dragon Tear room in Fort Dragonia. It's an insult, not a scientific term (it's like calling Bangaas "lizardmen" in FFTA :P ).

All things considered, they were still more ape-like then the other humans in the game. They were humans sure. But I don't think 100% humans. Like we are Homo Sapiens. Neanderthals weren't homosapiens. Neither were Cro Magnons (to the best of my knowledge.) Regardless there were earlier human like creatures that aren't Homo Sapiens as we are today.

They're human sure. But they're not humans like the Zealians are (or the Earth Bound for that matter, who articulate very well.)

A question on that though: We know that Ayla is like the great great great great great ...... grandmother of Leene and therefore Nadia, but where does the line of Guardia progress through Zeal?

I'd guess that the humans to discover the Frozen Flame, evolve, and then be able to use magic (in my opinion through contact with the dreamstone) were the Laruba villagers (who also had a Nu.)

They didn't have a Nu, the Nu appeared there after the fall of Zeal(i think).

No, there was a Nu in the hunting ground, and then a name change Nu.

Ayla would be more than great-great. But lets see here. She is almost everyones mother in a sence, well to some degree anyway. Kino is actually Marle's biological ansestor (and with Ayla they had their family etc.). I don't think anyone of the royal Zealians is related to Marle. Otherwise, the family would end there. Zeal only had Schala and Magus. Magus went to 600AD and never had kids. Schala first either died or reincarnated, and then in the next timeline was sucked into the DBT.

Yes wasn't the elder of the Earthbound ones Ayla's descendant? Which would place the Iokans as the Earthbound ones.

I've always assumed the Algetty Elder was Ayla's desendant and Marle's ancestor. Though, we can't know for sure since no ancestor of Marle's from 12,000 BC shows up at 1000 AD.

No, I think Marle is Schala's descendent...  How else would she have the pendant?  Besides, they look pretty similar.

Well the pendant did end up in the Earthbound village, did it not? Or am I imagining things...

The pendant, along with many other things (the Masamune and the sealed boxes) was scattered about. I'm guessing it was picked up by whoever was descended from Ayla at the time. Or maybe they found it and hailed it as mystical. We all know it was. They saw it as a symbol of the old glory that was Zeal and decided to give it to Guardia.

Like how Russia back in the day thought it was the next Rome. Early Guardians who had heard stories of ancient Zeal, probably thought they were the equivalent and so their leader had a Zealian heirloom.

Just a thought. Guardia from what I've read was founded on the year 0 which I know is a ways off from 12000. But I'm thinking like pre Guardia Guardians. People whose kids would go on to build Guardia.

OK, but back to the Frozen Flame...  Did Zeal use it to power the Mammon Machine, or was it undiscovered until Chronopolis?
