I'm going to stand by last year's resolution (which has so far worked out splendedly): to never make another new year's resolution ever.

Yeah, same for me. If I want to change my life, then the time at which I do it is irrelevant. New Years Resolutions seem easier to break than other serious decisions for change.

Well, Ofcourse.

Most of mine are the same from this year, I just have to keep reminding myself about them, since that's what I want to get out of this new year.

Yup, calculated by the Mayans... But then again, Isaac Newton predicted that it'd be 2060 according to Revelations.
And Nostradamus said it'd be like 3979 when the Earth finally gets destroyed, or we're wiped out.

I resolve to have something tasty to eat, maybe get some rest, and listen to some nice music.

Last year my resolution was not to drink any soda.  I actually did it, not a single soda throughout 2005.... then I chugged a Pitch black mtn dew about 1 minute after 2k6 hit.   :P

This year I'm gonna continue with no soda, and I added no chips or cookies as well.

Isn't it amazing how little you miss soda? I haven't quit outright, but the cutback has been drastic, having gone from 40 to ~53 ounces a day from maybe a can or so a month pretty much over night. Yet I don't really miss it.

I hear ya. If it's your goal to totally blow your body's ability to deal with sugar, overindulging on soda is the most efficient way to do it. What a stupid waste of your lifelong health, especially since it's so easy to just walk away from. I wish the soda jerks wouldn't push it on kids so fanatically. I wish they'd drink water as their basic beverage instead.

I was never anywhere near as much a soda-drinker as many people today seem to be, especially the youngsters, but I still had my fair share over the years. I cut back on it years ago when money was tight, and I have missed it only seldomly. Since then I usually only drink it a couple of times a month, if even that. My last soda was last week; one of those Jones Holiday Pack Turkey and Gravy sodas. I've still got the other four! (Corn on the cob, broccoli casserole, pecan pie, and salmon. Yum.)

I'm on Sprite right now, as I've successfully cut out black sodas and caffeine. Next is candy...

The thing is, when I was a kid, I mostly drank apple juice and milk. At some point, I made a transition to orange juice and soda as my primary beverages. I want to say during high school, but it might have been middle school. College reinforced it, and when I was working mad overtime at the job I got out of college is where the 40-54oz a day figure came from. Once the overtime ended though, I did some math, realized I could spend the money on other things, and stopped having even the soda with lunch. Since I stopped my habitiual soda drinking, the rest just diminished as well. Now I'm an orange juice/water guy. Orange juice is the nectar of the gods. The thing is though, it's all just moderation. Having a soda isn't going to kill you anymore than having a beer will. It's just over indulgence that's the problem.

Ugh...After drinking far too much orange juice at age 6ish, I can no longer stand its taste/texture.

Anyways my resolutions are:

- To actually achieve level 70 on an online game I play by only playing a few hours on the weekend.

- To replay the entire Chrono series (oh wait...haven't played RD yet >_>).

- To update my blog more often.
