Does anyone feel that Mega Drive and SNES graphic art styles are totally different? I don't know what it is, but it feels that way. More...smooth, but less textured for SEGA...or something. Plus, look at Sonic360 and...Mario Sunshine.

Right now I'm perfectly satisfied with my PS2... But when I buy my next gen console, it's definetely gonna be a PS3... My reasons are resumed to this: MGS4, DMC4, RE5 :D  And who knows... Maybe FFVII remake is real...  :o

Still, PS3`s the one who gets the 3 titles for sure... And well, IMHO, DMC is by no comparsion superior do Ninja Gaiden :) Just luv DMC gameplay, characters and cliche story :)

Forgetting not that FF series will most likely keep going on PS3...

^Thats not entirely set in stone. SE has said they are very interested in the Revolution, so we might see a brand new FF game exclusively on the Rev. (However unlikely that is, and hopefully it's a Chrono game not  FF :) )

I had Project 64 on my laptop and it was awesome. Took some getting used to with Mario 64 on a keyboard (not reccommended).

And what does the Rev have for new games? LoZ, Super Mario, Metroid Prime 3, Kirby, SSB...I could go on.  Saying which games will eventually be out for the system says nothing for he system itself. It's about which games will be out early, that will determine the true value of the system.

The Super NES came out in 1991. Chrono Trigger came out in 1995. The true value of the system won't be known until they stop making games for it; not when they've just started. See the Dreamcast, for further reference.

On the FF quote, they were interested in doing a Crystal Chronocals sequel. I hated Crystal Chronicals.

As for the games being released on the revo, you have only named existing series. While it is true that pretty much all of the revolution's good games will be made by Nintendo themself, you neglected to mention that Nintendo has stated that they are going to establish a few NEW series and maybe drop some of the old ones.

Yeah, I'm afraid I have to disagree entirely. Unless you're talking about the console's value "at launch time"...

Screw totally nice textured graphics, this is how Rev games should look:

Nice, clean and simple.
Just like Sega, back in the old days.
Though maybe concept art.
Oh, and Super Princess Peach is another comment on Nintendos lack of understanding that all other game companies try to gain some knowledge on the female psyche. Though games like DOAX2 say otherwise.

Take a look at the launch titles for the SNES:
Super Mario World
F-Zero
Pilotwings

Now try and tell me that none of those games are classics. Try it! You can't because they are such solid games.  Whne I say value of a system, I mean how well the industry wil use the console for its entire lifespan. If RE4 came out as a launch for the Gamecube I would have to argue that it wouldn't be third in the market. I am not saying that they garuntee anything, but it is a very tell tale sign of the future of the console.

I specifically remember right afetr E3 the president of SE saying that they were very interested in what the Rev was capable of, not that they were interested in doing a sequel to FF:CC. Was your statement made later than that?

I know, I was countering cupn00dles argument about why he is getting the PS3 by listing the games that will be out eventually for the Rev. I remember them saying they'll establish a new series and that Metroid Prime 3 would be the last Metroid Prime game. Besides that I have heard nothing about what or what not will be continued.

Like I said before, the consoles launch has a direct effect on the life of the console, quality of new games, and quantity of new games. If the launch is a flop then third party companies are going to be hesitant with making a "killer ap" for that console because they could lose money if the game doesn't get the sales that they predicted.

Yeah, I agree with that... Well, kind of;

I mean, I don`t really remember there being any real classic coming out for PSX right at its launch... But still, maybe I`m just missing it because it`s been quite a while since then XD

On the other hand, the contrary happened with the DC, IMHO... I mean, it had Sonic Adventure, which at least to me seemed to make the console very very promising.... But in the end it didn`t really reach my expectations... There were indeed some titles I liked a lot at DC such as RE: Code Veronica, Power Stone, Shenmue, Phantasy Star and some others.... But no REAL, remarkable classic, the kind that you find in almost every famous platform...

Yeah, I still don't necessarily find that to be true. It makes sense why it SHOULD be true, but...*shrug*. Just hasn't been that way. Remember, just because these is logic doesn't mean it will always be followed, or that there isn't another logic that stands higher than that.

Do I know what I'm talking about anymore?...I think so...

However, if you were right, then the 360's gonna go down the chute.

So wait...if a console has a great launch it fails (dc) but if it sucks, it wins (n64, psx). Ummm, ok...
In that case 360 will win. Its true classics have not come yet (halo 3, gears of war, lost planet, lost odyssey, too human and possibly mass effect)
DC games were the best! From Rez to Ikaruga, from Shenmue to SC, it was *ahem* "the greatest thing in the world"
