Would you buy a console for a new Chrono game?

I'd be first in line.

I'd consider it, but I might wait until I have discretionary income or more games are out as a reason to buy.

I wouldn't buy a console just for a new Chrono game, no.

I would guess it's the console, because the very first (normal) sized PS2's, no offense, sucked. They really couldn't play all the original PS1 games to its ability, some worked and some didn't.

They modified and upgraded to the (slim) newer version that supported more games and read more discs. I am thinking it's your PS2 in relation to the problem. If it's a constant "disc read error", check out the lense, do NOT touch it but see what's up.

But to be on the safe side in playing these amazing games from PS1 and what not, I would most definately upgrade to the newer PS2 model for maximum and safe performance.

rofl i have 100+ ps1 games i mostly get them from china or other places where they cost $1-$5 they all worked and PS2 never had replay problems perhaps the ppl who told you these facts never though that perhaps their disks were scratched?

we got a normal sized PS2 all of our 100+ games work though we only play 50 or so of them at a large extent but the others have 5-10 hours clocked on them.

As long as money wouldn't be an issue I would buy a console for a new chrono game.
Like it was with the poster above, Final Fantasy 7 was a deciding factor in my decision to buy a playstation.

The thought of being able to download the original chrono trigger to the nintendo revolution is already a factor in me wanting the thing.
Even though I've played the game many times already.
(that and after playing warioware twisted, I believe this revolution could be great)

Depends on the console, namely the hardware and the development tools behind it. Something with stone-age development tools will have fewer impressive games. I'll buy a console when the devkit includes a functional and imperative, concurrent programming language with support for low-level operations instead just having another C++ GCC cross-compiler.

Planning on doing something with it, then, and not merely casual gaming?

Personally, I usually wait to see the lineup of games for a console, and judge by the lineup as a whole. One Chrono series game is not going to override that, though it would weigh more heavily than other titles. As a casual gamer, there is no way I'd be willing to shell out so much money, so a few high-quality titles form my basis of decision.

Though I was confused about which way to vote - the second or third option. I wouldn't buy a console just for a new Chrono game, but I would wait for the lineup. I chose the second, because I figured that the third implied that Chrono games don't hold extra weight, but was my interpretation right?

Well, I purchased a PlayStation only after I heard about Chrono Cross.   :P  (Actually, I had Chrono Cross a few weeks before I actually got up the money for the system.)

So yeah, if I found out a new Chrono game was being released for a certain system, I would find a way to buy that system.

First thing's first, not w/o Kato and probably not w/o Mitsuda...And I'd want Toriyama back...or maybe put on Amano (imagine Magus baby!).

Secondly, I'd want it not to suck.

Then, sure, why not? As long as it's not on a cell phone...I'm ok w/all the major systems out there.

Young Prince, I would buy you the console needed. I would also buy one for me. But if my Prince isn't satisfied I will do everything in my power to bring you happiness.
