Hopeflly this will finally get us to the 8th page (I hate scrolling Down)

OK turns out the "night fair" and "day fair" were connected (whoops) so there were some solidity issues in that last patch sorry they are fixed.

Put some music in the cathedral back room
Zeality fixed the "Overworld Year" boxes
and I dum dum dum imported the Coliseum (hurray).  It's a south door from chronopolis.

Happy May Day

Daniel-Sorry didn't see your post up there.  Here's how I found it, it's located in a bad spot.

If you open up Temporal Flux and then the ROM that you want.
Click Window and Locations to open up locations to edit.
In the upper left you choose which location you want change it to {144} (where we fight Dalton)
Dalton's Speech can be found under Object 5 and then Arbitrary 9.  (I click the collapse all button)
You'll see the text box, you can highlight it and then edit the text on the left side.

 Now Make sure you don't put to much on oine before you hit enter and after four lines you have to put {full break} at the end of the line.  Hopefully it's not mixed up tiles now.

Well, I found the place, to be sure... but weird things are still happening. Firstly, for the dialogue all it says is Textbox(Persona,l "") with nothing in there. When I tried to find the right string to which it references, I can't quite find it. As a matter of fact, all the strings that appear to have been changed from the original appear as gibberish mangling of letters. Say, 05 under Locations: rogYighheof the{value 8}'sescat t{stop}
{Marle}{value 32}{stop}
rea{value 8}e s{instant page break}
ucenenhenghe{Ayla}ououheg{stop line break}
Yndneto{PC1}{"2}{instant page line break}
esome9{instant page break}
n th{Marle}{stop}
thie th{page break}
ndtot's
edngouhee t{delay 47}{instant page break}
Q'sightndhisn'tmerod t{PC3}ee{stop}
as{Epoch}s th'sndi{stop line break}
{Magus}ver{Magus}{PC1}{instant page break}
{instant page line break}
e thiscarohere{instant page break}
Q{stop}
{stop}
's{stop}
{Frog}8!you6you
ne{stop line break}
{Magus}{stop line break}
{full break}
{CronoNick}hinerbe: Thro{instant page break}
Q.{value 8}{value 8}{null}

Anything that looks to be changed essentially has that level of order, as though my computer can't read the code in the same way, or some such strange thing.

This happened to me when i was hacking my rom for the first demo of CT: Rebirth, and i had to restart from what i had from the actually hacked rom.

Just noting that someone should probably dig up the research on how to control Scroll Masks through events. Three different areas of a map use one location (Sargon's house, Janus flashback & Cathedral door), so if we could control scroll masks depending on where the player came from, it'd be a bit better. I mean it's not bad now, but still, the player can scroll the entire screen when he or she walks around.

CL has already figured that out.  I actually use it atleast once so far in the demo....Can't remember where.  It's in the memory Map thread (great thread) at Kajar.

Zeality finished the text up through beast forest.  And fixed up the room in Janus' flash back as well as the room before the epoch (i think someone has a soft spot for the Zeal tile set).

What'd I do?  I fixed a small bug in the Coliseum, cleaned up a few events/maps that Shinrin pointed out to me.

From JLukas:

In a hex editor go to offset $026C25. Replace the AD 00 with A9 F2.

This tricks the game into always thinking you just came from the 2300 AD map, causing the time needle to skip over that era.

End JLukas:

So does anyone wanna do that, feel free to use this patch and just post it after you change it.  If 026C2f correspons to an editable memory location in TF I'll do it myself.

Also if anyone isn't studying for finals and has some free time they can do this:

http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Changing_the_status_menu_portraits.html

to the Rom too.  It's fully documented just need some time.

EDIT: ......i'm really sorry everyone I put up an earlier patch (May1Zeal instead of CEMAY)...so that had some changes but not all Zeality has the ROM now so he should release another patch later, till then enjoy this patch, which was last nights suppose to be patch)

btw if you are going to do any of the above stuff please post in here so we don't work on the rom at the same time

Is there any way we can play Determination and then follow it up with another song? I tried inserting pauses that totaled 51 seconds and a command to play another song after Determination, but it didn't quite work. This is for Chronopolis.

Note to self: Castle guard (1000 A.D.) with Toma's or Fiona's palette may make a good General Montcrief.

Here's an update by Zeality.  Text up to chronopolis, he added alot.

He also asked me to change the end of zenan bridge.  Now instead of going back in time they just run from the Assassain guy.  A bit less out of this world.

New Patch Notes

Is there a way we can use CopyTiles to make the door to the TDC disappear and have the PC's run up to it and get HideSprited? To make it look like they go in. Or we can use sound effects. Anything to spice up that scene where they return home.

Curtains in Crono's room freeze the game if you close them.

Just as a break in the action, can we switch to the 1002 A.D. overworld for like 2 secs and then cut to the Barracks? It's a little fast just cutting straight to the barracks, but we can't really show them walking over there, either.

In Crono's kitchen, can you make Crono run out of the room before Lucca says "Wait for us, Crono!"

The action where the PC is supposed to do an animation when knocking out the other guy is a little off, I think because the animation isn't playing. ANd a sound effect could be added too.

After Montcrief scene, PC's need to disappear and then the Montcrief text will play.

We can change the exit from the base to just near the forest just a tad northwest of Porre, so they don't have a base that close to Medina or Guardia.

~

Okay, Porre base is done and EA is now Montcrief.

--Animations.  I didn't really look to hard.  We should look up the animation used in the prison though

After Montcrief scene, PC's need to disappear and then the Montcrief text will play.

--oh crap forgot about this one.  I'll get to it tomorrow.

I'm emailing what I've done to you now

Everyone else, Zeality is plowing through redoing the text.  Once he gets through a bit more expect a new patch.

so far, me editing the menu's hasn't really affected the game play much. and i have the latest patch that's up on the board. i need to finish lucca's picture, then work on Marle's Magus' and Robo's picture.

Ayla's and Frog's/Glenn's picture will not be edited.

New Scene Notes

-Robo in Chronopolis, second trip - Just a couple animations. Before first pause, have Crono nod his head, and change the second pause to Marle looking up at the computer. And relative facing keeps making Robo look down instead of right or left. Also, can you make Crono do something flashy before marle says "Crono is right!!"?

-Sealed Door again, sorry.

-If you can pull it off...when Marle crouches down, brighten with a blue light lik ein Melchior's house and have her say cure. The dialogue will go like this from that point onward (this is everything after the soldier says "Zenan bridge...porre")

{Marle}: Cure!!{null}

VANGUARD: Ugh...wh...who are you?{line break}
Sir...Crono? Sir Crono! It's terrible!{full break}
{Lucca}: What happened?{full break}
VANGUARD: You don't know? Porre{line break}
invaded over Zenan Bridge! The Vanguard...{delay 03}{line break}
is holding them back, but they've{line break}
got some kind of monstrosity!{page break}
It's hopeless!{null}

{Marle}: But Porre didn't have the{line break}
capacity to fight war! We inspected{line break}
their base and everything!{full break}
{Lucca}: That must have been the change
in the timeline! Hurry!!{null}

~

-After the sergeant syas "B-but..." maybe a sound effect of an explosion can be played, and he'll do the OMG animation and run off. Right now, he looks like he just plain deserts Crono.

-I fixed up the Zenan Bridge sequence a lot, but the last thing I couldn't do was...when the grenade goes off, can you have C, M, and L all do their "crouching down" poses? They can get up after Lucca says "Yeow!"

-Since they're regrouping at Crono's house after sleeping that night, can you fade Zenan bridge to black and play the "Sleep" music?

time to take a break...
