Looks like we might need another cave map for http://www.chronocompendium.com/images/wiki/9/94/Singing_Mountain_1_%28CTP%29.png (where the "Dragoon Tooth" will be). And I was thinking...Singing Mountain really hits me like one of those "favorite RPG places" as discussed in that General DIscussion thread, like Zeal or or that northernmost house in FF7. Do you think it'd be wasteful to add one final vista room beyond the cave as a sort of summit? It'd have an amazing view, and we could stick that Kilwala there who'd say "Mountains're nice" twice, and then say "Singing Mountains're better." A final vista without any enemies might crown Singing Mountain as a place of beauty rather than another mountain dungeon.

the map for the 1000 ad cathedral was missing the bottom row of titles like in the beta. which i will probably fix in the next beta, along with the other stuff that was in demo 1 that's not in demo 2

Whoa, I was wrong about the post here before.

I have just applied the new patches for Golem Boss and the Lava file both work splendidly.  They aren't on the latest version of the rom yet though, but once it gets to us I'll make sure it's applied.  Keep up the great work everyone.

i sent the flux files for the opening to DDK, hopefully if he reads this, i need him to send me the rom for changing the music, to the CE demo 1. also, i might try and re add chrono's cat? or just leave him out.

Test

how about...Tourism is booming with the mystic ferry...the museum was recently completed...choras was its own independent state in the early days before guardia sort of conquered it and was in the northern ruins, but eventually they left choras by itself...choras is a strong ally of guardia...there's a baby boom going on

I completely agree with Zeality; a final vista would really set Singing Mountain apart from all the other dungeons available in CT. Fans have been craving SM for years, we might as well make it worth the wait.

Agreed 178%

Something similar to what I have going on in the last Zeal Battle I created only better, with scrolling layers, the ocean and sunset, a pretty layer 3 fog, or sunbeams coming down and hitting certain spots on the terrain...

Also, we can have a loop in the events, constanly, or randomly changing the scrolling layer of watter or fog, so it moves on it's own accord, like the water going left for 10 seconds, then stopping slowly, and then to the right... just ideas of course. We already are doing things with the game engine that the original designers never did. :)

JP: maybe something where it loads little artifacts if you find them
JP: like a "fill up the museaum"
JP: sidequest
Zeal: oh
Zeal: thats great
Zeal: like
Zeal: over the course of the story
Zeal: if you find little trinkets...
Zeal: eventually if you get them all you'll get a speical scene or something
JP: yea
Zeal: okay interesting...is there any extra space in the choras museum?
JP: um we could add tables to the main room
JP: like empty tables
JP: and the basement hall way leading to the grave
Zeal: okay...as long as they don't crowd i guess, sure
Zeal: the curator will say something like "We are interested in collecting more interesting items. If you ever come across any, bring them to me, and I'll have a look! We'll document the treasures of yesteryear!"
JP: whoo
JP: that's actually really easy to implement
JP: we could dedicate one memory slot and have each bit be on eof the items
Zeal: alright perfect idea
Zeal: i'm gonig to post this in a thread
Zeal: just in case this chat box closes spontaneously and we both get anmneisa

Here's my final version of Singing Mountain's final area, "copied" from the Prerelease manually:

The cave tileset is the worst in the game for ease of mapping. I'm not satisfied with the way certain tiles meet up, but we can always apply a few cosmetic changes.

For reference, the old version is:

drum roll....

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/jsondag2/shared/CE3.ips

And look I learned that you can make patches with unheadered roms to make the patch REALLY small.  Pretty cool huh.

Fixed most of Chrono 99's bugs.
The few I didn't fix are still listed in the countdown thread.  I can actually do some of them just gotta look up how to make a text box close automatically, or look up what memory bit corresponds to what chest...

I made the Dorino inn not charge because I accidently deleted the code that charged money and was lazy
Good point about melchior by the way, plot guys why is he in 1002 and chronopolis?

OK on to the fun stuff, in this version of CE you will fight

A fightable Golem boss with a nifty new pallette
2 new cave locations in 65 MIL
Imported Lava cave pallete (Zeality for the life of me I can't make the lava appear in your location any ideas?)
A new boss room for singing mountain
The remixed music is back (tell me if I missed any)
Crono's cat lives!
A new museum (hero's grave)
the intro is back!
Most of Chrono 99's bugs are fixed
Some new names for a few helmets and armors

I may have even forgotten some.

Finally I want to mention how many people went into this update

Chickenlump, JLukas, Shinrin, Chrono 99', Zeality, DDK Daniel Krispin and me.....were getting a little team going here.

Just make sure you've patched the rom with JLukas's fix, then reload the location and up the palette to 12 (from 11, I think). If it's not, use the Heckran Cave map as a reference, since it uses the right palette.

i have the right patch.  I can physically see the lava in TF but when I go in the room on the ROM the lava isn't showing up.  shrug it must be something about map properties but I coulda sworn i made it the same as your picture.  If anyone gets it working please post how.

Are CuteLucca's portraits going to be added in this demo like in the previous one? Would be nice to see the (almost) entire party with those faces.
