Chrono Script
« on: April 08, 2006, 11:32:18 am »
Hello everyone!

I am currently planning a new effort to adapt Chrono Trigger to a screenplay format. I have tentatively titled this new project Chrono Script.

I am not sure exactly what form the final result will take. However, I do know that I want the script to include almost all of the game. Therefore I intend to let it find its own length rather than try to force things to a certain time limit.

I am looking for people who want to help with this project. This is an open invitation to anyone and everyone, and I hope you consider lending your talents.

If you want to help, please register at the Chrono Script forum and introduce yourself.

It sounds interesting. I tried visiting the site, but it said 404 error. It's probably just my internet connection and my crappy computer.

What is there available to do? and or what is the objective?

Here's the motivation:

I am among those who believe that, if done properly, Chrono Trigger would make a very good movie. There have been a few attempts since I've been at the Compendium, though I haven't heard much from any of them since. I know that repeated attempts to revive the Chrono Trigger Flash Series, which I am involved with, have met with little success. So I decided to split this project off.

I'm not 100% sure of the best way to do it. If I had to guess:
1. Get a bunch of people involved
2. Brainstorm ideas for a while
3. Storyboard
4. Draft
5. Revise

Of course, if anyone has suggestions of how best to do it, I'd be happy to hear them.

Glad to hear it, Magus22. :D

I know there's more people out there who would love to see a Chrono Trigger movie. Now's your chance to help get it done properly. How about it?

Though we may not be professionals and what not, and we may fail, I say let's do it!

Count me in. Do I have to join or select from the Usergroups thing or accept an invite?

Let me know when you can, and when we have our numbers or people ready so we can meet and discuss this.

Well, I made that forum, and I think it's set to open registration, but if you can't access it, then we may have to do something else.

Can anyone else see it? (I haven't skinned it or anything yet, so it looks pretty basic.)

It's never too late, Nekoken. (Especially since the day after I made this topic I got swamped with coursework for three weeks, so we haven't really gotten started.) Anyway, new members are welcome at any time, so don't be afraid to jump in.

On a related note, I was wondering if I could get a fan project forum for this project here at the Compendium. We're having some technical difficulties with the one I was trying to make, and I think doing this will be easier.

I could really use this script with my CTM project.  Take it one step closer to an actual movie (and probably the closest we'll get for awhile)

Just a question: Have you decided on how the screenplay opens yet?

Personally, I'd suggest opening with the Day of Lavos ending. It's a hook that gets the viewers attention right away.

Here's an idea: The audience is Crono.

Maybe it's just because I'm tired, but I don't understand what you mean.
