Snake has a minor place in Subsistence; it's Raiden who is the star of the show. I know most people everyone hates him, but I'm with Kojima on this one- I think he rocks.
But remember, Snake Eater has Boss, definetely the best female video game character ever.

And yeah, Raiden kicked ass too, people just hate him cuz he replaced Mr. Cool, cuz he did kinda whine a lot, and we had to see his ass, which is not cool at all. Damn, Kojima blew my mind with sons of liberty . I don't get when people say the plot was too convoluted, I got pretty much everything that was going on.

I've only played Metal Gear & Metal Gear Solid...oh, and Metal Gear Solid (GBC) >_>...All of those fancy "Substance" and what-nots scared me away from the series cause I didn't know where the hell to go from MGS...plus, I was never too happy with the gameplay...stealth ain't my bag.

Oh, and I knew that I would after I got a chance to play it, but Dragon Quest VIII does indeed belong in my tops.

Big Boss and Solid Snake have basically the same personality! But Big Boss is cooler because he went into Russia during the Cold War, and killed The Boss.

Nah Big boss is about he same age in snake eater as snake is in MGS 1, yet he is so much more naive and innocent compared to the battle hardened Snake. He kicks ass, no doubt, but he seems almost... Childish at times, losing cool points in my book,
Just compare the amount of asses kicked by both of them, and Snake is clearly more of a badass.

Dude, Big Boss didn't turn evil because he was emotional. Wasn't it because he wanted to create his own perfect soldier state?
Finish Snake Eater. It actually almost made me cry (but I didn't because, er, I'm manly).

Yes, Boss was always more powerful that Big Boss. In fact, in Portable Ops, he keeps the name Naked Snake because of that.

Big Boss was never evil. If there is something that the MGS series makes clear is its perspective of good and evil. Both are relative things, no one is good or evil in absolute.

Also, Big Boss eats crocodiles. Fuckin' crocodiles.

Oh, and he completely owns Ocelot. Twice.

Solid Snake has had two games to beat him up, and he still haven't. Even corpsewalking Gray Fox made more damage to Ocelot than Snake.
