programmers ending

hello, I"m new to the board, but i have played both CC and CT many times (and radical dreamers once) anyways, sorry if this has already been asked, but at gamefaqs.com, there is this long guide that tells all about the programmers ending. I have gotten it before, but this guide tells of all these intricacies about it (that I missed), concerning how it's different depending on how you played the game last, and how you can find kid in there and find out stuff about her emotions and such.  I was just wondering about the credibility of all of this, and if all the stuff he writes about kid agrees with all of your theories.

anyways, for reference, it's at the chrono cross page at gamefaqs under "programmer's ending faq"
thanx

I've personally never looked into it; I plan to play Cross once more before summer, and I'll play according to that FAQ just to verify it. Anyone else managed to have Kid step out of the shadows?

I read a good chunk of it (if it's the FAQ I'm thinking of) a while back when I was interested in how to open that damn door (which apparently hasn't been achieved by the people in the FAQ). It was too damn complicated though, so I never tried it. Apparently you can get Kid to come out depending on what songs you play in the room where you can listen to all the songs from the game. Doing various things will make her come out in different costumes (I think there's a Lucca Flashback version among a couple others) and you can make her steal a Key as well...I don't know if any of it's true...But what the hey...Someone should try it some day...haha...

i did in fact try it today, but i only could get the first part of the faq to work... that is, i got to the programmers ending and the music room, played some music, and there is a shadow of kid. If you exit, equip the spectra swallow, enter, then go to the menu and go to status and look at serge with the spectra swallow in his hands, then go back to the game, and the shadow kid, although only still half visible behind a wall, is now wearing her orphanage costume.  However, i could not make it any farther into the instructions that this faq tells of, as no matter what songs i played, even the ones the faq recommends, i could not get a favorable response from her. ( i either got nothing, or an animation of shaking her head no)
i wish some one else would give it a try, i'd like to know if the rest is true.
also, in the faq i read, it said that the door that is "completely locked" was hacked into, and after some crazy processes, they found it to be a debug room where any place in the game could be accessed. it was something for the game testers to use, and was never intended for everyday game players to ever use.  anyways, that's my progress and what i understood of the faq.

A code opens the door, and there's nothing behind it.

As for the locked door, a gameshark code can open it, but it is just a black room with staircases that lead nowhere. It is a disable debug room. However, there is a room modifier code that allows you to use the staircases to access rooms from the code. From what the FAQ says, there is no deep intricate secret behind the door, just cool rooms to explore.

I've never actually gotten the Programmer's ending. So I've never had the chance to try out the Kid thing, but from what I've read in the FAQ, it sounds pretty intriguing. I don't really understand why it's there, though. I mean, I understand why it's there, but I don't understand why it's there, unless it was an event in the game that went unused, which considering you're supposed to get this key that doesn't show up on any menu, is quite possible.

Sergecross, as I said, I never tried it, but the only advice I can give you is that the FAQ says timing is crucial. If the response you get from playing one of those four(five?)songs they list is anything but positive, you're supposes to immediately switch to another. Otherwise, you have to exit the room and start over.
