Why Serge?

I have look at this website but i can not find the answer but knowing how long this story is , I mostly likily  didn't look hard or in the right place for my anwser but still I still must know. Why Serge?  Was it part of the  plan that it was going to be him , was he born too do this or Was he just at wrong place and time

It's not like hes special from anyone. But when he dies, and is chosen to be saved, that is what splits the dimensions and actually makes him special.

Some say that because Schala reached out to him besides all the other people in the world and allowed him to become arbiter was it. But as Lucca said, the whole story began back in 12,000BC when Schala fell through the vortex. But as some peolpe think, the tie between Schala and Serge can go beyond onto a deeper level, reflecting on Schala and Janus etc.

Serge holding the Chrono Cross on Opassa Beach was the final outcome of Project Kid, engineered by Belthasar.  The Time Crash and all subsequent events were predetermined according to Belthasar's plan.  You could even say that Serge was created by Belthasar.

The reason Serge is it is beacuse he touched the flame.

Serge was already special before touching the Flame. It's precisely because he was somehow special that Schala allowed him to touch the Flame.

It's a very similar to "Why Crono?", for all we know it could just be pure randomization that it was Crono and Serge who were chosen to lead out these events and save time.
