There, it's converted, upgraded, moved, and fixed. If you see any problems or have comments, post them here.

Assuming there aren't any more major problems with the switch, I can now focus on getting the rest of the site updated and creating a few custom themes for the forums.

I can't seem to find the usergroups lists. Also, the user graphics are now all stretched to their full size. My (not so) little Crono is still okay, but some people's graphics are distorted. If that can be fixed within a reasonable effort, by all means do it. And finally, may I say just how yucky the default and generic themes all look?

On a more important note, why the software change? What does the groovy new-and-improved system have over the old one?

I'm pretty sure there's an issue with the smilies too.

Anyway, I miss the theme, but I like all the new features that I'm seeing.

This is gonna be fun!

Security, speed, and a higher pedigree.

The features were only a secondary consideration.

Oh, and it's easier to modify.

I really don't care for it with all honesty. It's something we all have to get used to now while the other Forum layout was easy and not so complex. I am not saying that this new one is, I adjust ok, but my firewall is blocking almost every picture on this new layout thing. NO I will not turn it off. The new features are very nice! We'll all have to deal with it.

Wow I thought I'd had a bad surprise... I wasn't able to login with my pseudo because of the dash, I tried Chrono'99, Chrono\'99, but eventually a simple Chrono99 worked. So, overall the system change is a good thing I guess, and it gives the Compendium a kind of unique look. It's the first time I see a "SMF" forum. Plus it's free apparently(?) aha. The layout (and the font!) feels strange but it's always just a question of habits.

Keep in mind the look is temporary.

Also, the issues with avatars/smileys/other images should have all been fixed by now. Let me know if anything persists.

That was a configuration error with the forums. Nobody is going to ask you to turn off your firewall, and the images should work just fine now.

BTW, don't switch themes to "compendium" unless you like having the forum appearance change in subtle ways every few minutes.

Are the old member rank icons still on the server?

And yeah, this is just a temporary look. It's not our style to go default (well, anymore)...

The user graphics should have a maximum size limit. For instance, The Ice Dragon's icon is so big that it lasts half a page vertically and has a scroll bar horizontally. I had a Cthulhu moment when I saw that thing.

Done. When choosing an avatar, those that are too large will be downloaded and resized by the forums.

That's great.  This forum program is a lot better.
