Most people don't even know what Final Fantasy is...
That's just not true. Not all gamers are young and stupid, most of them grew up with Nintendo and PlayStation, and no one can go through those systems without hearing about the FF series. While I agree that "blockbuster" games seem to be gaining a great deal of popularity, it's really silly to say most people don't know what Final Fantasy is.
No it's not. It's silly to say that most gamers don't know what it is, but we are a specific market. If you walk down the street, asking people if they've heard of Grand Theft Auto, Halo, and Final Fantasy, that is probably the order of positive responses you'll get. Everyone and their dog knows about Grand Theft Auto (or, more accurately, that it exists and has violent content), and many many folks have heard of Halo, but Final Fantasy, for how blockbuster it is in the context of the gaming community, is probably not very well known out in the wild.
