Cooper has done a few with the letters of Crono rearranged (Ronco and Onorc). A few more letter rearrangements could be

Ornoc
Ocron
Orcon
Ocnor
Noroc
Nocor
Nocro
Ronoc
Rocon (lol, Rock on)

I am not sure if we could use any of these without it being awkward though, but it is worth mentioning. Ornoc sounds plausible, though.

Is this going to be a clone of Crono, Crono's doppelganger, or a possessed form of Crono?  If so, I don't see any reason for the evil Crono to have a different name (except for the name of whatever agency is possessing him).  I suppose you could make up a last name for Crono and have him refer to himself as Lord Whatever, or something along those lines.

why not just pull a kingdom hearts and scramble the name with an X in it?

Thats up to the fan fic writers. For me, I am just assuming that both Crono and an evil version of Crono exist, and the evil Crono needs a name. As far as I am concerned in my story possession is out. Can't have Crono vs. Crono with a possession.

We could leave naming up to the creator of said fic. Who says we need a uniform name? Sure, it's a nice default, but it dampens the creative spirit.

x makes a z-ish sound.

Take Xemas from KH2. its pronouce Za-em-nas.

I definitely don't view this as creating a cannon name for Dark Crono. I just needed some help naming said character, and I am sure others were trying to think of a good name too. Based on the poll so far people seem to like Crio, but I myself plan on using a different name in my fics. All in all we should still leave it up to the author; we're just throwing arround ideas here. In fact I never would have thought of the name I am going to use without this topic. So we are indeed helping the creative process. So keep up the suggestions.
