More like- 'Yeah! Let's take a few games from a dead console and sell them to make a few thousand bucks! That'd be real cool, we can sucker them into playing games from a dead console while we keep them in tension over the new console we haven't even begun working on yet!  :o'

Uh, by the fact that SE wants money. If she sees the Chrono games reel in money after ten and five years after the release (respectivly) they'll see the public is intrested in Chrono and a new sequel may be profitable.

You know that SE likes stuff that bring big bucks. Why YOU actually haven't noticed is a logic I don't know how you don't have. It's been like a very slandering topic for so many fans? X_X
But this is basically greatest hits. These were popular games, so many people would like it  Thats all it is. These games are tried and true

Yeah, but if all the copies of CC or CT simply fly off the shelves it would encourage a new sequel.

That is, unless you honestly think SE would really stand the temptation.
Yeah, but now that Squeenix has become a money hungry has become more money hungry, they may just make a shit ass mainstream sort of game for Chrono Whatever. But then again, Dragon Quest was a beaut.

think about how it is in hollywood.  if your movie makes slightly more than it costs to make, then it is a success.  how many taito classics are out there right now.  thats the way they are treating these games, squareto classics....how sad.

Good to know that the Chrono series did well enough over there to make this Greatest Hits list of theirs...Hope for things to come at least.

I agree with the general tone of your post; however, I do feel compelled to make a clarification: It isn't enough for a movie to be considered a success if it makes "slightly" more than it costs to make. The true expense of any production must also figure in its implicit costs. For instance, in the production of a video game, the personnel and equipment that are devoted to this project cannot be used for another project whenever they are working on this one. Had that hypothetical "other project" been more profitable, then the game that is actually produced incurs additional, implicit costs. Calculating implicit costs can be difficult, and often devolves into the realm of statistical guesswork. But suffice it to say that no company contents itself with "slight" profits, when the possibility of greater profits hangs so tantalizingly close. That drives the blockbuster mentality, where profit becomes more important than the quality of the product...which is one of the main reasons your remark rings so sadly true.

i see what you mean, but the reason i brought up movies is there seems to be a direct similarity between the quality of recent releases.  alot of the stuff coming out is just recycled garbage.  not to say that any of these games are garbage, but it is just easy profit.  i bought ff chronicles even though i had both games on snes.  consumers are easy to take advantage of.

Do you think it's a test? Whichever gets sold most will be the New Sequel to that series?

Doubt it.

But it's something to consider...

If it were the case I don't think VP and LoM would have been part of the list. Sequels are already in development for those 2 titles.

How about a new Chrono game (or any other series for that matter) w/VS-style gameplay? Eh? Eh? I want to see that style only somehow w/multiple characters...maybe multi-player...but, no, that sounds totally confusing...>_>

Man, have I dreamt with an Online VS-style strategy/tactical battle game, like a Gunbound of sorts in terms of turn-based actions and you got to build your characters, forge/buy/sell weapons/armors/grimoires, etc etc etc

That'd be すごい :lee:
