Want a new Chrono game?

actually...  crono was never a character considered for smash brothers brawl...

he was just one of the many (as said, with mega man, solid snake, etc.) POSSIBLE choices that non-nintendo companies could add.  cloud strife and sephiroth were mentioned, too...

and here's the thing.  i think square enix KNOWS about us (the fan community) and our innate desire to see a third Chrono game.  i think it comes down to logistics:
1.) to unite everyone involved to create Chrono 3
2.) to ensure their assets (we all know that in recent years square enix has not necessarily been what it once was)

i think the most logical point right now is a DS port of Chrono Trigger...

Well now, seeing the sales figures for FFIV DS so far...

Final Fantasy 4 DS, a game that is only available on one console in one country (for less than two months) is selling like hot-cakes!

How hot are these hot-cakes, you ask? Well, how about more than half-a-million copies, or 564, 895 copies since December 20, 2007, to be more precise!

...I'd imagine that we can expect more oldschool 3D DS remakes coming our way from Square-Enix...Chrono, plz, plz? ^_^

i mean, how else could they utilize the dual screen awesomeness (depending on your personal opinion) of the DS...

Meh, I just see the dual touch screen as a lame little gimmick, myself...just there to make emulating harder. lol

What'd you have in mind? From what I hear on FFIII DS, the dual touch screen screen didn't really come into play at all...I think it was just a map screen most of the time...*shrugs* I wouldn't want them to mess w/it too much...but a nice official retranslation would be neat...better sound quality too of course...Maybe remake Radical Dreamers slightly & stuff that bad boy in there as well. ^_^

Well Kato's said he didn't want to make RD an addition on the Chronicles version of CT because he wasn't that proud of it or w/e...so I figure a real remake (instead of just the inspired game Chrono Cross) would be ideal...

If he was that interested in fan service he'd have made Chrono 2: Magus Magus MAGUS! instead of Chrono Cross. It's probably better the way it is...>_>

I feel that it's our duty as a fan community to make an effort to purchase a Trigger remake on DS if it ever occurs - the sales figures from those will weigh in majorly on any sort of decison to produce new content for the series by upper management. The almighty dollar sadly calls the shots.

Off the top of my head I can think of two major victories by fan communities, albeit not in video games:

1) Firefly. The staggering sales of the DVD Seasons spawned Serenity.
2) Dead Like Me. Same as above, although the movie is still in production / nearing completion.

You could ad the cancellations of Family Guy...and Futurama, which came back for a couple new eps...

But anyways...if they did it, I'd try my ass off to buy a Chrono Trigger DS remake game even though I don't own a DS! Or I'd buy it for people I knew had DS at least. Gotta spread the Chrono love!
