GreenGannon: -10 Points, arguing!
Zaperking: -50 Points, having a crush on Schala!
GreenGannon: -a gazillion Points, being an asshole!!
:lee:

Whatever.

Anyway, having not played Chrono Cross which is more Schala-centred, I won't know much about her personality, but what I know is is that she is basically the total opposite of Magus. Except in power. This is probably because Queen Zeal had sex with Lavos, and created the most powerful children in history. Or something like that.

... She did not have sex with Lavos... thats just... yeah...

But as BZ said, Magus has a cape.  And a cool demonic lair.  I mean the whole fire thing when you walk into his room...  Yeah that is sweet.  Plus his music obviously shows how much better he is.  I mean Schala needs incredible theme music to even stand a chance.

But this arguement is old.  And the fact is, it was stated that Janus was the stronger of the two. Get used to it.

...At the time. I don't think Janus can hold a candle to Schala after she becomes so powerful that she transcends time and dimension absolutely and totally >> Not to mention that JANUS didn't get a game that was all about him. :P

We were speaking about CT. Janus is more powerful than Schala at the beginning, Magus is more powerful than Schala during the game, and Magus is more powerful than Schala in CC (if he's still alive). After CC, Magus is most probably still more powerful than her because there's no evidence towards the contrary. Schala could obviously beat him at a philosophy contest, but Magus could still nuke her regardless of her knowledge about the meaning of life.

Even if Magus is powerful, Schala still has techniques to own him. Firstly, she can't die because of her pendant. Secondly, we know that she can errect barriers on things, so she could just trap him in a cage. Thirdly, Magus lost energy to Lavos.
And the fact that Janus only hides a magical power that surpasses Schala doesn't mean that he surpasses her in every aspect. He probably has far greater shadow magic than her, and that is why later we realise that he could time travel and fly. Schala, on the other hand through CC is shown to be much stronger. If one second of contact with a Lavos that is draining your energy makes you loose like half of it (Magus), then what about 13,000 years for Schala? Even while in contact with him, she managed to create Kid.
Later on, she can time travel and cross dimensions without being a missing piece. Plus, RD does make her even more special, by revealing that she is an arbiter.

And yes, I do like Magus. But Schala clearly pwns him.

Honestly, arguing some stupid detail like this is a clear sign that analysis is done until a new game comes out.

Think this is trivial? Wander over to the 'is Lucca a lesbian' thread - I just made a post there with my thoughts on it - if you want to fry a few mental circuts.

May I add that the great ZeaLitY started that thread XD

And whats so wrong about this analysis? This has turned into a Janus !=Schala topic :D Yays. Talking about the two Zealian heirs.

To satisfy everyone, how about Magus and Schala are Ying and Yang? Magus is pure, unbridled power, and Schala is the compassionate, healing soul of the universe? If a being combined their powers, it'd be the Entity

OMG!

The Entity is Magus' and Schala's redneck inbred brother-baby from the FUTURE.

But he'll never unlock his power until he goes back in time and becomes his own grandfather.

It seemed like Schala actually became some sort of dimension-hopping cosmic being at the end of Chrono Cross.  For all we know, she absorbed a significant portion of Lavos's power.  However, I think that Magus was more of a walking death machine than Schala ever could be.

She doesn't have it in her to do such a thing.
But then after Chrono trigger, as shown in RD or whatever, Magus seems much kinder, and he doesn't just go and kill people and innocent, but kills monsters only.

Maybe... if the Chrono Cross worked to full effect. The echoes of Lavos might still exist in her spirit, or not. It all depends on the effectiveness of the Chrono Cross to divide them. Personally, I can see Schala as violent and destructive. Heck, I wrote that into my fanfiction, and maintained she can fight nearly as well as her brother. I figure Zeal to not only be magical, but downright superhuman, the heroes of the old world. Even the demure princess of that kingdom would be of hardier disposition than most others. And Kid's no weakling, either - presuming they are united, that strength is forever a part of the princess. As to her mental state... I figure it for a shadow, that Lavos did to her a similar thing as to her brother, instilled a darkness of spirit by his corrupting touch. Schala, if given the right motivation, could be a terrible and vicious opponent I think. Her sorcery is almost unnmatched even before her union with the Infamous Immortal; she might be a slender woman, but the way I see it, anyone of Zeal would be stronger than most of humanity - they are the pinnacle of humanity, best and strongest, champions of that race... or should have been, if not for Lavos and corruption; who could stand against that? In battle she might rank below her brother... but he, I think, is the strongest to ever walk the world, and is the highest champion of the earth, yes even surpassing Crono in the end. So that's a given that she does not have his might. I also rather think she ranks below Crono in overall skill in war - the stronger in sorcery, but the weaker in weaponry and endurance, and thus outmatched in the end. But in the end, I think her only third after those two. The things she could probably accomplish if she set her mind to it...
