Hi
I've a suggestion: why don't tou create a RSS feed for the news? This will be a great features
And if I don't wrong SMF alredy have this feature so should be very simple to make it (I suppose)
This feature was added a long time ago. In fact, it was the same day I wrote the current news script. The actual feeds are:
http://www.chronocompendium.com/rss/allnews.xmlhttp://www.chronocompendium.com/rss/fannews.xmlhttp://www.chronocompendium.com/rss/sitenews.xmlI would build my own off site personal script if I knew how this website was built...
Ahh I would be all for it, if it were to happen...
MediaWiki, phpBB or SMF, some Python code, and a few skins/templates. Web development in general involves mostly trivial programming tasks. Beyond understanding the underlying protocols and how to write secure code in any language, all it comes down to is some data modeling exercises.
The most important part of this site was making everything look integrated. It doesn't matter whether or not it is, but if it looks it, then that's what it becomes.
Speaking of web development, I might have used this if it had been around when I started:
