Finally! PORTABLE Chrono Trigger!

Well, for ME at least ! Hey, I'm CronoTriggerfan (ignore the name typo, it's a long story), and I've been a die-hard Chrono fan since.....forever. So to enhance my skills as a console modder and to make a testament to possibly the greatest game ever created, I made what you now see before you: The SNESp MKII (MKI deceased).

It's equipped with:
5 inch PSOne LCD screen (with LED mod to conserve battery life)
3300mAh Ni-MH battery for 6-8 hours of gameplay
SNES Mobo modded for PAL/NTSC play
Wired in Composite video
Mono sound
Externally mounted detachable controller
Frankenmodded SNES case
Relocated cartridge slot
2 internal speakers

I've made other consoles, including NES, Genesis, PSOne, (for Chrono Cross, of course) and Intellivision. I'm currently working on an N64, Gamecube, and PS2p. I actually custom make these for people, so if you want one, just say so in this thread. I can also make a case fit to your desires, although if you do want one, I urge you to keep the format in portrait, seeing as it's much easier to portablize that way. If you want to see more pictures of my work, I can host them if you wish.

A lot of people have. By the way, I'm a member of the forum over there . Ben's portables, while nice looking, just aren't practical to build. Plus, they'll cost you an arm and a leg as well (about $300 ).  And it's not really bursting my bubble; I've known others do this too. There's about 15 of us who have made custom SNESp's successfully.

You can load your Emulator and Chrono Trigger ROM on a sony psp. Just use the cable that loads your mp3s

yea, i have the emulator and ROMs on my psp, but i play it on there. it's awesome.

true you can put it on there bu that requires using a old version of the firmware, modding it or getting good a swapping memory cards fast.

plus emulation for it isnt perfect on psp versions.

anyway good job on modding the snes, you know of any ps1 rebuilds like that? =p

But there's just something about playing SNES on the actual hardware beyond even functuality. That, and custom portables have 2 player support (or can)!

Yes, actually, I do. Mine! I do PS1, but there are various others who have done the same.

As for where the cart goes, you can't see it in the pics. It actually slides down the back at the top of the system.

I agree that there's nothing like using the old school system. The emulation on the PSP is definately far from perfect. Out of curiosity, how much did that cost to make and how much would it cost to make the PS1 portable?
