That's an interesting proposition. Let's change it slightly. Perhaps Lavos' personality, or conciousness rather, is derived not from observing humanity, but from integrating human DNA. If we assume that personality has a significant genetic factor, surely the personality of Lavos will be an amalgamation of aquired personalities from the previous generation of Lavos, and the concious lifeforms on the planet. Since Lavos can effect what DNA will arrise, Lavos is in the odd position of being able to determine what it's conciousness will be. This is, of course, assuming Lavos has some control over it's genetic integration capabilities. Either way, this could lead to some interesting thought exercises. Imagine Lavoids don't have concious control, and a Lavos crashes on a planet where the dominant lifeform is largely nihilistic, to the point where the lifeforms do nothing to preserve their own existence. Would that Lavos ever spawn off, or would it take on that depressed conciousness, and simply rot away in the core of the planet?
