Thank you, all! I do not think I deserve my own topic, but since the opportunity is here I shall give a speech:
Ahem!
Friends, Zealish, Countryfolk…as the Chrono Compendium’s most despised villain, and yet most beloved rascal, I must say that you are all insignificant worms used solely for my personal advancement! Except for RD, who as a left-hander is exempt from worm status. Furthermore, the celebratory reception after this address has been cancelled, and refunds will not be issued.
Actually, I am only half-kidding. To seize the chance to learn more about people, is among the very best kinds of personal advancement. ZeaLitY can attest to the fact that I am not as abrasive and combative elsewhere as I am here on the forums, but part of expanding one’s own horizons is to explore new ideas and, hopefully, emerge with some small illumination for the trouble. I spent many years mastering the art of consensus. Here at the Compendium, and elsewhere in life, I have had the opportunity to practice the art of arguing to win. That has been an enlightening experience, and I learned more than I bargained for.
Of my discoveries, I will say this: Avoid confrontation wherever possible. Keep sight of what you want to achieve. Try to understand where other people are coming from. Always admit when you’re wrong. Be persistent rather than stubborn.
As a writer, I have had the opportunity to create some profound plots and curious characters. That is why we are all here today; each of us at some point was touched by the Chrono experience. That is the spirit in which I join you. It is the story of life that interests me the most. My time on this tiny little forum is just another turn of the page in a grander tale. It is that grandness, I think, which gives me such satisfaction with the world, and such zeal to make more of it. I encourage all of you to not settle for an ordinary life. That is my birthday wish for you today.
And now, I must go! I was only still online at all because I had laundry to finish. I may be a geek, but even geeks have to get out and about on their birthdays. But lucky me for having still been here. It would have been a shame to miss the chance to use those nifty Entity powers. Thanks, Ramsus! And, of course, thanks to ZeaLitY for giving us all this grand place to come and visit.
Now get back to work!
