What is the most exciting, tense etc. game ever, in your opinion? Basically, if you wish to know the criteria for such a game (because not everyone think like I do), think of Ninja Gaiden, Silent Hill or Resident Evil 4.
Speaking of residing evils, Resident Evil 4 is definetely on the top of my list. Sure, it isn't as scary as some of the other ones, but it creates a new theme for Resident Evil: tesion. From the moment you begin, you realize you can't move with your weapon aiming. The enemy has its eye set on you, with it's will to kill you set higher than it's will for survival. Shooting them in the head doesn't always instantly kill them.
Just walking around in the dark creates fear, as you never know what will pop up. Once, I entered a house and I saw this women with her axe coming down on me. Scared the hell out of me. Well, no, it didn't, but that is just because I don't get scared very easily.
Bosses are just amazing. From trailing a giant Leviathan type beast and trying to shoot it with harpoons, to killing a massive beast thingy that can use trees as weapons, you will always be on your toes to use the environment in your favour (I admit, I'm not very far through). But so far, the most exhilirating level was the time when I was in the cottage, and zombies were just pouring in. I had no herbs, so I had to kill to get them. Finally, I realized that Luis called me upstairs...
So, there ya go. Resident Evil 4 rocks.
Oh, right, and the main character, Leon S. Kennedy...
and AdaNext would be Ninja Gaiden. I love it. It is hard. I have finished it. Yep. Finished. Plus, it is known as one of the best action games of all time, and
the best action game for Xbox. I should probably play DMC or DMC3.
