Backpack is your friend. You'll also probably get a locker, so you only have to carry the books you need at a given time (say, before lunch, after lunch, and books you need for homework). I never really bothered with them, I think only one or two years I even had an assigned locker, but they can definately be a convenience for you.

Woo! I'm leaving to the states in 4 hours! A 17 hr flight, and I hope my cat is alright (we're animal freighting it x.x They can only drink water, and can't eat 14 hours prior or during the flight!).

The damn travelling security is so tight =.= Why couldn't that British plane scare have happened after I got to America safely =.=

Anyway, Seattle here I come!

Oh, BTW, I start school next monday. I get there, and then I get to choose my classes. Yay ^_^. So nervous x.x

Oh yeah, my school bag is huge x.x Must get a smaller one T.T

See You guys there! XD

Should I be excited or concerned that we have another member in Washington now?

Well, I went to the school today to get enrolled.
It was soo scary, the school was so big. I had to get my locker combination from the library, and had to sit with the councilor who just gave me my classes :O. And I have to get a metro card next month T.T
And they're going to give me my books tomorrow (i hope work books too).

It was scary :O Everyone was so much taller and bigger than me. Man, I used to be the big fish in the small pond back at my old School T.T

Work books? Don't count on it. Expect to go through quite a bit of college ruled (lined) paper. Assignments are done on loose leaf, mostly, or printed from the computer. You don't actually work in the books much.

In college especially, there are many supplementary materials available for learning. Workbooks, online pretests, instructor materials, videos, etc. But you only need to do as much as needed to get an A or learn as much as you like. For my Monday class, I don't watch the videos or do the pretests. I definitely do them for Thursday, though.

Hmm, It's been the first week, pretty cool. I got put into biology, but then I moved myself into chemistry. In all my classes, I either have to catch up, or do additional learning.

I'm thinking of doing sport, because my stepdad is getting all annoyed because i'm not doing it, but the only problem is that there are like only 10 sports avaliable, and some you can't join because the season started.

Soccer - I suck at it. I'd want to get better, but I doubt people who just want to learn and play get a go at sport co-curricular activities.
Lacrosse - Same as above.
Football - Same as above, plus that i'm not in the mood to run around like a bean bag.
Golf - ....No thanks
Tennis - Suck at it. They probably don't have beginners either.
Track - I'm not fast =.=
Cross country - Not to sure what this is O.o
Swim team - I used to like it, but then you know when you hit puberty and it's like eew your pimply or fat and stuff, you don't want to reveal yourself.

So yeah, I'd probably do something like soccer if I could, but because i'm not that good at it, it's not as if i'll be able to do it. If only they had field hockey T.T
