Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin Killed!

Hot off the wire, Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter with the thick Aussie accent, was killed just hours ago by a stingray. He was 44.

He leaves behind a young son and daughter, too. I remember that because he took some flack a couple years back for holding the son in one arm while going after a crocodile.

The man was a legend! What a loss! What a cruel freak accident! What a way to go, doing what he loved! Terrible! Horrible! And yet fitting!  :lee:

Very sad. One of the few celebrity deaths which makes me feel that way. Must be because he is Australian, or because his luck finally ran out.

Feel bad for his family though.  I'm sure given his fame and the dangerous nature of his job, he was prepared for this eventuality with a bitchin' life insurance policy.  Not that one can could ever really replace a husband and father.

But of all the things to do him in, a stingray?  Thought it would take more than that to take him out....  Dude was two steps down from Longshot on the luck scale.

I always loved his shows when I was younger, and even enjoyed them when watchting Animal Plantet(I think it was there).
This is just so sad, he was a cool guy.

I never really liked his show. Too reckless for me. I do appreciate that he did a lot for conservation. Hopefully that legacy will live on.

First of all right in the heart. Second of all, the impact was that equivalent to a rifle bayonet...Hey, there's nothing else on TV now!

Today someone told me it was good Steve Irwin died...
...I swear to god I wanted to punch that bitch in the face!!!!!!

I liked all of the work he had done to help the enviroment. From what I have heard about him he seems like a nice guy, it seems sad that he died this way...
