Ok, how bout this. I actually tell you how to use the glitch. [highlight to read] Cast Selphie's Slot. Eject disc tray. Game still functions, enemy doesn't attack. Click away til you find The End. Put back disc tray, cast the End, voila, any creature, including boss, dies! [/end]

I can totally understand using most cheat codes, but taking advantage of an unintended glitch seems ungamersman (anti-sportsman?)-like...>_>

Yeah, I agree with you... It took me 12-15 minutes to kill Omega Weapon without using that glitch.

Zeality, have you started the game yet?

Eager to hear when you do, I'd like to know how it is.

I just purchased and obtained FF8 and FF9 off eBay as a combo pack brand new.

The tracker for the PSX version is being finicky. I should start next week.

I couldn't resist; I started it today. I can't wait to laern more about Squall, because a reserved, angry protagonist is what I'm craving at the moment. I've been told Squall is unsettling enough to make Sephiroth down a bottle of aspirin just to get away from the guy. Seifer seems like a bastard, and the Gardens are pretty relaxing. This is a short post, mainly because I don't want to get too far.

Yeah, Squall is a pretty cool character in the beginning...I personally liked Seifer because he shares the same intense sort of hatred for Zell that I have...even though it's totally obvious that Seifer is gay for Squall (and vice-versa)...>_>

Yeah, I think I had to wait a lil white until I could find some of the rarer cards w/better card stats on them before I could really kick some ass in it...

I found an easy mark in the library. I feel like an ass for doing this, but I'm taking her cards like hell.

Just for items. I hate playing through and missing some really cool item or secret scene. I'm not reading ahead or anything, and I'm basically going through areas while leaving a savestate at the entrance in case I missed something.

Same.
Many of my friends when playing Final Fantasy only use one save state. I call those people retards.

Get rare cards by completing the Queen of cards quest.  After you complete it, use card mod then refine it with forbidden medicine & you'll get stats upgrade items.  In FF8, the Queen of Cards quest is extremely usefull if you know the full the potential of the cards.

Whatever you do, DO NOT PROCEED TO DISC 4 until you complete the Queen of Cards quest. It's fun to see your base stats reach 255.

Yeah, proceed with caution before entering Disc 4, and have a save slot in Disc 3 handy.

Squall is pretty cool, but after a while his and Rinoa's relationship just gets really really annoying. The Gardens are awesome, I agree, and soon you'll think even higher of it ;)

The best character is, and I think we'll all agree, Selphie. Sure she is EXTREMELY annoying...but yeah.
