Well, I'll answer that after I know how much it (and the PS3) will cost here at my country... Till then, who knows >.>

Good timing. You should add the latest news, which came out just today: The Wii will be going on the shelves just a couple of days after the PS3, and for only $250.

I haven't bought a piece of video game hardware since the N64 in 1999, but I might just buy a Wii at some point in the next year.

I have a feeling that the Wii isn't going to be as good as some people think. Then again it might be successful. Many great games are to be released and it's backwards compatible with past Nintendo games. If I do pick up a Wii, I'd get it for the RPGs and old school games, and for $250 . . . who could go wrong! It may yet be a good purchase as I wait for PS3's mayhem to stop.

I heard Europeans aren't getting them until March of 2007. It's a good thing too because by that time, the chaos will be more calm and the systems will be newer and more up to date. I am waiting for oppertunitity to present itself in due time as PS3 is released along the road . . .

im gonna get both Wii and PS3 mainly since so many great games have come out for the sony and nintendo platforms any game that ets released on 360 tends to get released on PC too if its good enough so i dont have a reason to get one yet as most games i would get for it would run better on a high end computer.

Wii is coming out in USA November 19, in Australia December 1 and Japan December 2. They know they're going to win Japan, as PS3 will only ship 100 000 consoles there.

By the way, we already have a thread of exactly the same name, with like 7 pages.

Yeah, I was just thinking that we must have already done a Wii topic...Well, anyways...I haven't bought a new console since the Dreamcast so, no, I don't plan on buying a Wii...I think that the fact that you can download old Nintendo games on it is a WAY overhyped feature. I mean, anyone who actually wants to play those games is already doing so by emulating.

I have a few questions about that capability too, though...What about GBA and DS games? Will those also be available for play on the Wii? How much control does Nintendo have over the games which will be available? I mean, it can't just be their in-house games, right?

I also still don't know how I feel about their remote controller thingy...Until I feel myself how it works and w/an actually good game, I will still have reservations about it...

My heart is still w/Sony, I guess.

I found out the Europe release date today for the Wii: December 8th. I'm very happy now. My birthday is just before, which means I can most likely buy it right away!  :D With Twilight Princess! *Dies of excitement*

By the way, in case no-one's mentioned this, it comes packaged with Wii Sports.

While we are indeed all entitled to our opinions, it tickles me pink that you feel that theWii won't live up to hype or that it'll drag behind the PS3. I haven't kept up with the times, but remind me: isn't the PS3 going to cost around $550? I don't think Final Fantasy 323421: Glacier of the Dead II would be worth that, sir.

On the other hand, Wii will have Pokemon Revolution, a new Smash Bros. title, and various other things that fail to come to mind at present. And one of the most unbelievably silly controllers ever made.

It makes me feel dirty...honestly, I kinda like that.  *sexually suggestive face*

But yeah, I'm gonna get both versions of Twilight Princess since I'm Link's bitch.

I'm honor bound to get one. I said that if they made a system, and all it did was play NES and SNES games, I'd pick one up. Well, they've done their part, so it's my turn come launch.

Wow. Again, Nintendo shows its love of Australia. Before it was DS Lite being released here before America and Europe. Now it's Wii being released before Europe (December 7th for Aus).
