School Shootings: One in CANADA!? (and others)
« on: September 15, 2006, 05:05:39 am »
School massacres are not common. Columbine happened many many years ago, but it is still remembered like it happened yesterday. But though they are not frequent, they are one of the most detestable, disgusting, dispicable crimes. School is one of those places kids are meant to feel safe from any sort of violence or harm. That is why a school shooting is so frightening, that it can happen in the place you feel most safe sending your kids to.

School shootings usually happen with some horrifying motive. Columbine was done by two messed up, possibly sociopathic, kids. Marc Lepine killed 14 women because he was an anti-feminist. Recently, another school shooting happened, in the most unexpected of places. Canada (yes, I know Marc Lepine was Canadian). An angry man, who was obsessed with Columbine, wanted to die in a hail of gunfire. He dressed up like Klebold and Harris & played the game. He said he liked it because Postal 2 didn't have enough blood and destruction it it.

Not feeling like typing much today, feeling tired from a day at the Aquarium and Powerhouse Museum. Dunno why we went there for school, nothing in the worksheets was in our curriculum...wait, totally offtopic. What are your comments to these shootings, or any ones?

Here is the man:

"Messed up, possibly sociopathic kids" are always the cause. The reasons behind their going batshit insane are what need to be discovered. This guy looks like your typical gloom and doom nerd.

Apparently the negative influences of Milli Vanilli transcend the boundaries of mere ugly-hair-dom.

Hahah! That was gold.

The problem is many times the person is shot dead, or they turn the gun on themselves.

Sometime after the industry decides that mocking a real-life tragedy by shooting down a school full of innocent children in a halo of gunfire is profitable, but before they're gutsy enough to risk designing a game featuring full nudity. After all, if you appeal to Christian morality, there's "Meh, kinda gross" Evil, and then there's "WTF'n F, that is some depraved shit!" Evil.

(If you're a Christian, you probably shouldn't click on that second link.)

School is one of those places kids are meant to feel safe from any sort of violence or harm.

Plainly, you were never bullied or mocked in school. Yeah, this sort of thing is thankfully rare, but one cannot think either that school is otherwise free from violence or harm. It can at times be a downright nasty place. Ideally, perhaps, is should be a place of pure learning and the pursuit of truth - images of the Greek Academy come to mind - but at least in our recent public school that has never been the case. And since, realistically, it cannot be removed - social posturing is inevitible - I do not think it can be said that it is a place 'meant' for anybody to feel safe. And that's just emotionally and physically. Ideally, one should never feel intellectually safe at all in school.

I said they are meant to feel safe. I thought a put a side note saying "with an exception of bullying, but that's another story". Guess not.

Plus, I thought you were homeschooled?

Mostly. Not in grades four or five, nor for most of 11 and 12. Four and five weren't that great so far as teasing went. By 11 and 12 I had matured and could brush it off.

Words still hurt, but it's the lack of them that's sometimes the killing blow.  I'm big and strong enough that no one short of a football player is going to try anything if he knows what's good for him.  Shunning is the second option, and I think it's even worse.  At least when they openly teased me I had an excuse, if flimsy, to pound their faces in; Texas actually does feature a "he had it coming" defense, which is one semipositive product of the jingoism that rules the day here.  People who genuinely are assholes pretty much always get the crap beaten out of them eventually by someone who's tired of their shit.

The interesting thing is that this was at a college.  That isn't something that happens a lot.

That's not really depraved shit.  It's just that there are some people who really shouldn't be naked in public.  Nobody has the right to not be offended by any given thing, but I don't want their ass germs all over public property.

Not only that, some of those chicks don't look legal.  The age of consent may be different from state to state, but the age of titty-showing on camera ain't.  It may say it's legal, but there's a lawsuit going on against Girls Gone Wild now; they claimed they were legal, but I can claim that I got a visitation from Jesus the other night and he told me to smoke lots of pot with the makers of Aqua Fresh tooth paste.

I think they could make a School Shooting FPS in a positive light...Like some kind of Tom Clancy-esk escapade where you're the SWAT team or something that goes in to fuck those fucked up kids up...or maybe even just some gutsy kids who are tired of being held hostage or something...I just want to kill some asshole kids, really...>_>

Or maybe it'd be something ala the Fallout series where you could choose to kill for good or evil...MWAH HAHA!!!

Four children have been killed as revenge for something that took place 20 years ago, in a shooting at an Amish school in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The killer, identified by police as a 32 year old local tank driver Charles Carl Robert IV, also shot himself dead. Initially the county coroner reported six fatalities but has since lowered that figure.

At a news conference police said that the killer bound the feet of the female students, told the boys to leave and then executed the girls.

From the Press Conference:
Initial Call came in at 10:36
15 males and 10 to 12 females attended the school
Multiple shots were fired.
All exits had been blocked by the suspect.
1 shotgun and 1 automatic handgun were found next to the suspect
4 children confirmed dead
7 children injured
