Yeah...I only watched kick ass things when I was a kid...Although I watched the Power Rangers second incarnation when their robots were dragons...because dragons are cool! They totally effed up when they went ninja, oddly enough...You can't be goodie two shoes ninjas! That's just not right.
Shows That Rocked (80s)
Transformers (the oldschool one) - Soundwave is the SHIT!
He-Man & the Masters of the Universe (the oldschool one) - I had so many of the toys...Skeletor's voice never fails to crack me up.
G.I. Joe (again, oldschool) - It's all about Snake Eyes...I remember playing one of the games in the arcade...Ah, good times...
Shows That Rocked (90s)
The Animaniacs - They were the Marx Brothers only for kids! And plenty of innuendo (half of which I'm sure I didn't understand)!
Pinky & the Brain - The first cartoon spin-off that I had ever seen. It took one of the best parts of The Animaniacs and made it it's own show! If only they had spun off "Good Idea, Bad Idea"...lol
Eek! The Cat - Oh, it was such a good show...Eek & Sharky were like that time's Tom & Jerry or Sylvester & Tweety...
The Thunderlizards - Another cartoon spin-off (from Eek! The Cat) that was pretty funny...The humans were always funny.
Ren & Stimpy - There's so much innuendo in this cartoon that I still don't get some of it...It wasn't just funny, but it had it's own unique style that made the really gross close ups stick in your mind years after the fact.
The Tick - No, not that stupid version w/real people in costumes, the awesome animated show based on the awesome comic book...It was the ultimate super-hero spoof.
Transformers: Beast Wars - Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking...why the fuck are you listing that crappy CGI Transformers spin-off? Because Dinobot was the MAN. The whole Golden Disk arc is byfar one of the best storylines in Transformers history...I didn't like much of what went on in the series after Dinobot died...even though they sorta brought him back in Beast Machines...IS NO ONE'S DEATH SACRED!?!?
Space Ghost: Coast to Coast - Has there ever been a better late night talk show? Conan comes close, but the very idea of SG: CtC is amazing in itself since the material they were using was so limiting (I think there was only, like, one or two small seasons of Space Ghost's old tv show). It was a hilarious concept that was done extremely well.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 - It's not a cartoon (it had puppets though!), but I'll be damned if I don't list one of the best shows of all time...It pretty much shaped all of my concepts of sarcasm in comedy...and it made me a loudmouth asshole in class whenever we watched a film! Ah, good times...
I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right now...I'd list Red Dwarf, but that isn't in the same catagory at all, huh...I would also list the Simpsons, but man, looking back at the first couple seasons I wonder, how the hell did I watch that show? I guess my sense of humor has changed...Other shows deserve to be up there, but are more recent favs like Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Futurama...not to mention anime...
