Hello everyone,
I've made this section for the loving memory of the Chrono Trigger Ressurrection Project. I know the news may be quite old & faded, but, I feel as if it still deserves a part in everyone's heart. I recently found out about this incident or however you may perceive it as, quite disappointing. I wonder what purposes did Square Enix had against this or anyone. I also wonder, if Square Enix will someday realize the emptyness that one felt, maybe, they'll have a change of heart. Most say it's doubtful, some say maybe, very few say yes. What do you say. .? If anyone would like to tell their thoughts & feelings towards this matter, please do. Til than, thank you & farewell.

They did it because focusing on Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts brings them higher profits than the Chrono series ever could. To have a resurgence of interest in the Chrono series and subsequent demand to make a new game would be problematic.

I'm not so sure about that. If someone makes a Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts remake, in 3D with a new engine and stuff made from scratch, would Square Enix really allow the project to exist?

Probably not...it's stealing SE's thunder or profit in either case.

They have every right to their intellectual property. Also, think about it. Bungie forced Halogen to close down, and what happened? They announced a game of similar nature.

bungie are one trick ponies though. there whole life revolves around one series. even IF ff suddenly came to an end, SE has Dragon quest, Chrono   series, KH, Star ocean, valkrie profile, drakenguard, and a hole slew of other games that sold. Name one game outside halo (without looking them up) that bungie has made that sold well.

The C&D was, of course, completely justified on SE's end and I have no problem w/that. It was a neat idea, but they didn't pull it off very well. Which one was just going to be a few scenes anyways? Was it this or the other one? Whatever...It's cool that I finally got to see clips of them over on YouTube recently though. It looked neater than I thought it did.

I think we can all hope & pray that one day Kato will pick up this badass of all RPG series and we'll finally get our fourth enstallment, thus forever instilling the Chrono series in everyone's heart of hearts (because no one likes trilogies...>_>). I mean, c'mon, it's got to be more popular at least in NA than the SaGa series or the Seiken Densetsu series!

One day, they'll pander to people in North America and abroad (i.e. not just Japan & Asia) and they'll rue the day they thought the Chrono series couldn't cut the mustard! OH HOW THEY'LL RUE!!! But then they'll be all like, "Cool, I guess we were wrong, now we're making even more buckets of money!" so it'll all even out.

oni never really sold well and doesnt' count as a seires, neither does pimps. and marthon is part of halo's  domain(precursor.)

and 4 games?  2 of which fall under the same title?! dude! that's a grand total of 3 different sieres to survive off of.

as opposed to the ... 1... 2.... 3.... 4... 5....6....(does tatics count as a seperate?) .... 7...... techinically 7 became its own series..... so did X.....

....8....... 9......
8 different series should the ff line die.

That's like saying Warcraft isn't the life blood of blizzard, dude.

I think you misread me: should halo die now, bungie would be hard pressed to try and produce something that would take over flagship status. They don't really have titles that make a name for themselves, and even halo was substandard at best. They really got nothing besides a 1 name.

Like Blizzard. If Warcraft died, They'd have to either up diablo or scarcraft, both of which are considered cheap warcraft knockoffs.

SE can kill ff and still have a good number of titles that sell well (kingdomhearts and dragonquest to name two.)

I'd like FF to die. I'm satisified with 1-10, also the Tactics games. Right now, FF isn't what it used to be, and is all graphics these days.

Also, should FF die, Squeenix could concentrate more on other franchises... Chrono!!!!!!

I don't know who considers Starcraft a cheap Warcraft knock-off. Certainly not the pros in Korea who make their living off of it.
