Possible oddity regarding the Telepod

I wasn't sure about what happened during my latest playthrough of CT, so I had to ask. Is it necessary to have Crono try out the Telepod at the Fair before Marle?

I was at the point where Lucca tells Crono to step onto the pod, but I talked to Marle at this point, and it triggered the event where she says 'That looks like fun. I'll try it!' or whatever. So, to sum it all up, Crono hadn't been on the pod, but Marle took her turn as if Crono had done so. Can anyone explain this?

EDIT: I tried this again, and it worked the same way. Oh well, I found it odd at first...

Hmm...I have the same question do you, but my guess is that it really isn't necessary, or it just might have something to do with going on the other telepod and facing lavos...I don't know.

Er, like I said above, I resolved it after I found it wasn't an error. I'll lock this topic now.
