Happy Thanksgiving!
« on: November 23, 2006, 01:13:23 pm »
As we all know, today is Thanksgiving in the United States. I just want to know how you guys enjoy Thanksgiving. And I know a lot of you guys are from different parts of the world, so I made the I don't celebrate Thanksgiving option just for you.

Now, excuse me, for there's a heaping plate with my name on it.

Changing, anyhow. Not necessarily "deteriorating."

(Spoken like a true liberal, J...)

Happy Thanksgiving, all. Today is one of those reflective times of the year when people of all nations and creeds can come together in harmony to give thanks for the unassailable might of America and its crushing hegemony over the rest of the world. And what better way to celebrate than an unabashed display of gluttony and surfeit?

I say all of this with the utmost seriousness, of course, because as everybody knows it is also an American custom for people to have dysfunctionally short attention spans, and so by the time you might get around to questioning your love for and obedience to the USA, you'll have forgotten about it.

I, for one, am thankful for my sinistrality, health, opportunities, freedom, and friends.

What? Thanksgiving? Certainly not NOW. Heck, it was a month ago for me! I know, I know, Canucks and their crazy traditions. We also spell words like honour. Personally, I think it looks better that way. Just like Thanksgiving should be in October.

Give me a break; I fail to see how one can be so conservative and not know more about football and Thanksgiving. The football players who get to play Turkey day games are truly honored to do so. Many of them in the Dolphins / Lions game earlier gave interviews during a program bump noting how they're blessed to take part in the time-honored tradition of playing football so that every American at home can have a game to watch. It's a fixture of this holiday.

I don't get Thanksgiving. You eat a lot of Turkey because other people who were eventually killed gave you food?

Oh well, a happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Heh. I don't like football. I actually don't really like any sports much. If there's anything I'll watch, it's hockey, or maybe a bit of soccer. But I suppose that comes from living in what's probably the greatest hockey city in the NHL.

And really, I can see why we don't have thanksgiving this time of year. It's a bloody -15C outside... before windchill. Probably feels a good -25C. Okay, so that's not THAT bad, but still, it makes one ornary. Not the best time of year to have a thanksgiving festival, eh?

Well, at my country we don't have such thing as thanksgiving.

To tell you the truth, I don't even know what does it celebrate.

Yeah, what's a Thanks Giving Day?

It's supposed to be a day of thankfulness from the past year. At least that's what they tell you when your a kid. Now, it's just a day where I stuff myself full of turkey and cranberry sauce.

Not to mention your supposed to just take the day and really think of all the people and things that make U happy......but what do I know??? :|
