My old AP psychology book did talk about a study in which successive children in large families were shown to have lower IQs than their immediate older siblings.

Hmmm... I'm not too sure about that. I'm the most academic of the children in my family (I have five younger siblings - and yes, all same father and mother), it's true, but that likely isn't connected to IQ. For example, my brother dropped out of University in his second year. Why? Not because it was beyond him, but more because of his character. He just didn't feel like doing it, and instead took up doing his music. However, whenever he does feel inclined to talk on subjects, he makes it very apparent that he's smart as hell. I defenitely wouldn't be able to say which of us is more intelligent - only that I've trained myself more (and that old idea might well be true, that the oldest is the academic achiever... at least it holds true in my family.) As for the younger ones... the one sister is severely handicapped, so she can't be considered, but the other three are all at least average. The third-to-youngest isn't doing too well in school, but that might just be a teenage attitude thing, and less to do with actual academic potential. The second to youngest particularly is a good student, and lightning fast reader (reads faster than anyone in our family, including me and my father) - she's just going through the teenage 'I hate school' phase with the other sisters. The youngest is the artsy one - stereotypically a youngest child - but gifted in her own right. She's not gone far enough in school to really be able to tell - the earlier grades don't really make things apparent - but I'd willing to guess she's above average intelligence. So coming from a big family, and being the eldest, I'm not quite sure that it holds true. I think I do have the reputation as the smart one but... like I said, it's my apparent effort in school, likely as not, rather than actual intelligence, that brings that about.

Looks like the IQ difference is trivial. The real issue seems to be that children of larger families seem to be dumber than the children of smaller families. It seems that, on the whole, the stupids are outbreeding the intelligent. This is very distressing.

Intelligent people often want to have less children, because they want more time for themselves.

I'm not opposed to the idea of coming inside of some chick, just so long as I don't have to stick around and raise the little brat.

The family situation is a complex one. Babies and toddlers perhaps need much attention, but there comes a point at which children become independent. I know an impossibly large family, and the kids who don't get quite as much attention find it from other sources. They begin living independently and find mates. The equation seems to balance.

Hmmm... odd. I can tell you, though it might seem arrogant, that I've not noticed that to be the case. I know I'm in the top 5% percentile so far as intelligence goes - or at least my academic training would imply that. And my other siblings also generally outclass their peers. Even the most silly of them, the youngest, has, if she wishes, an attention span that would put most to shame - and a sense of academic dilligence that I find incredible, even extreme. Maybe this is because our parents are rather well educated themselves, and very much for learning. I don't know. But I would definitely say that our family as a whole is certainly over the average level of intelligence.

So there are a couple of girls I like, right?  I'm pretty sure I could convince either one of them to date me at least once; by some miracle of the Force, they think I'm sweet, albeit very strange.  Problem is, given where I live, I'm pretty sure they have religious families.  After what I just went through with Michelle, I'm paranoid as hell about that.

Now, I don't mind religious people, or religious families, as long as they don't try to convert me away from my heathenistic tendencies, because I happen to like those.  As long as they don't come in and break up the cuddle-kiss sessions, I'm fine.

However, I'm starting to worry that no family here would ever have me.  Never mind families as religious as Daniel's; I'm pretty sure that your dad wouldn't let me date your sister, for example.  Actually, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't, either.  I almost got killed going the wrong way down a one-way street for a Final Fantasy concert, and what did I do?  I came on this website and posted about it for the entire world to see.

So where the hell am I supposed to go?  Japan would be nice to visit, but I'm not a fan of the idea of living there.  Even after I complete this diet and get hot again, people who don't conform to the established social norms are looked down on.  I'm sure as hell not staying here any longer than I have to.  And just about every other state in the Union is filled with one kind of yokel or another.

Fuck.

If you and I lived in the same city, I think the world would explode.

I'm probably transferring to Austin next year; oddly enough, the state capitol is the most liberal city in Texas.

I would recommend the Seattle / Federal Way area too.

I don't know. My family is strange, and doesn't always act the way people would assume. For example, right now, my father is off seeing Guns'n'Roses (or, at least, Axl Rose) in concert. In a few days, he'll be seeing Aerosmith. And he's letting my sisters go to the latter. So... heh, yeah, there's no telling the kinds of things my parents do and don't allow.

According to what I heard from my brother, yeah, that's the one.

Go live in Berkely - although I've never been there, I know a few people from there and they've told me some good stories about the laid back lifestyle there.

If he went to see Pearl Jam this past summer while they were on tour, that will score an instant cool in my book.

I guess we're getting off topic, but yes, Berkeley has been called the "People's Republic of Berkeley" before.

Um, what?

*packs bags immediately and goes to wherever that is*

It has long been a dream of mine to lay some pipe in a SuicideGirl.
