Shit.
« on: December 01, 2006, 04:29:02 am »
I have a very low download limit, so while this may seem trivial to you, it is really frustrating for me.

I went and downloaded the Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run Remastered torrent. 59mb, which was a good amount. It was in a .rar file. When it finalyl finished downloading, I excitedly opened it up. I had downloaded a lot of torrents, though most were just normal folders. I open up the .rar file in FileZIP and...

Nothing there.
Zilch.
Nadda.
Shit.

What the fuck just happened!? (and no one answer that with "you just committed a crime" or "you got pwnt is what")

Maybe it's a virus that hid itself? Heck, I don't know. I've never used the program.

Yeah. Remember when they didn't even make 59mb hard drives? Heck, I remember games that still said 'hard drive required'!

Heh. Imagine that instead of 59mb it was 5gb. I had to freaking download half-life 2 around 3 times (that makes 15 fucking gigabytes in like 3 days) until I finally got a version that worked without steam.

This kinds of shit happen when you use torrent :/

I beg your pardon? Us old-timers were playing Commander Keen on our turbo-souped 386s before you were a glint in your parents' eyes.

It's in there, somewhere.

I'd still run a virus scan. If you don't have one already, Avast! Home is free for non-commercial purposes.

Torrents of zip or rar archives can break like that. Just redownload it. It took me 5 tries to get FF8's second disc because some seeder had bad data that would corrupt the archive.

Buy it. I'm not kidding. A) It's cheap and B) It's one of the best rock and roll albums. Period. It's absolutely incredible, from start to finish. The music is good, the lyrics are good, and the passion...this is honest; Bruce is trying to rock his way free from New Jersey, and we're all coming along for the ride.

It's worth the money. That comment is directed to everyone who doesn't have the album yet.
