New Chrono Game...
« on: January 16, 2007, 05:11:44 pm »
I have been thinking alot lately, and as much as I would love a new Chrono game, what on earth would it be about? The dimensions have been restored and Lavos/TD have been destroyed. I mean what else could Crono and crew or new people have to do? Another lavos spinoff would just be rehashing CT's plot. Maybe a side story for Magus, or Schala finding Serge but both would be bland IMO. And the main theme of the series is traveling through time/dimensions. Kinda like how I feel about Wild Arms. After the first one the rest were like, man this has been done 4 times already o.Owhat else can they do. I would love to hear everyone's opinion on where the series is headed regarding side storys, spin offs, or sequel/prequels.

You could have said the same thing about Chrono Trigger. Back then, no one could even fathom Chronopolis, the Dead Sea, El Nido, Serge, Kid, the Time Devourer, or the use of dimensions. There are many ways to continue the story.

But there were little hints and clues about possible sequels. Regarding Schala's disappearence and Magus going to find her, or even when his Mom steps through the gate after the cat lol. But Cross fixes everything. the only thing left is for Schala to find Serge. Which is what I was getting at, what kind of events would lead to a sequel etc?

Actually, CC doesn't really fix anything. Sure, we know that the Devourer of Time has been defeated, Schala is saved and the dimension remerged, but apart from these general, macrocosmic stuff, we know next to nothing about the actual fates of the characters and the state of the planet's History.

All I can say is Crimson Echoes type thing. Something from the new futur coming back in time to mess up the course of time.

Well in any case like I posted earlier, I just hope my favorite rpg series doesn't go the way of Wild Arms >_<

Why does something have to crash the course of time? Our beloved characters could be doing quests to end problems in the eras, against enemies that have no power over time itself, but maybe can use the portals just as the characters do.

Sure, there are still many unanswered things in the series that could easily be covered. Look at how much material CE has to use.

If it were up to me, I would like to see the Chrono artists flex their rendering muscles as they make the story focus around the kingdom of Zeal itself. Think of all of the beautiful landscapes they would have to render on next-gen systems...

My idea still stands...

Dalton was responsible for the fall of guardia and he obtained DNA from the Lavos shell on Death Peak. He is genetically creating his own Lavos or merging his DNA with the Lavos DNA he recovered. He must be stopped.

Crono, Marle, and Magus return as playable characters, as well as Serge and Schala as playable characters. There will be more characters as well... but yes, you've heard right. Schala would be a playable character. Also, all main characters would have unique voice actors playing them as well as some NPCs.

I support that idea. :) Very much.

I agree kennyj2003, but to some extent. As I previously said in the Chrono Crisis Forums, I cannot bare the thought of Chrono Trigger / Cross be resusicated to graphics that correlates that of the PlayStation console (PSX). I believe that Chrono Trigger should be entitled to more due to the interval of time that we fans had to endure, and still come to realize, their is still no sequel or game that bares such a name. I also agree with ZeaLity, you could have said the same statement back then, and still find yourself saying the same statement as of today. Yes, it's true that augmenting the storyline or the characters of Chrono Trigger would be quite senseless to the average gamer, due to the events that has already token place within the timeline of Chrono Trigger, but that does not necessarily mean the story has already told itself. There is still much to be said and done than one would assume, like the outcome of Chrono and Marle had partaken in the act of being seized, or the msyterious death of Lucca when being attack by Lynx and the aide herself, Harle. There is no actual evident of the outcomes listed above, simply our speculation and logical assumptions that keep those outcomes well alive. In regards to Magus22 post, quite amusing, though it wouldn't be of a surpise if Dalton actually did seek out for vengeance upon his defeats from Chrono and friends.

Maybe it would be about a new evil that has different intentions  than lavos.
