Kyronea, what midi device are you using? That might the problem. Or maybe MIDI volume is muted.
I converted the midi to a mp3 with Synthfont.
http://ce.herograw.org/Vehek/GSL_-_Sacred_Forest.mp3
Oh, there are several different devices listed...they all result in the same thing: muted. As for the MIDI volume itself...I've never seen a MIDI volume control anywhere on any computer before...where in the files is it located?

In any case, thank you for the conversion.

EDITSU: ...Holy banana beans! That gets an instant thumbs up from me, Glenn! As far as I'm concerned, you're hired! Of course...Zakkie will need to make the final judgement...

I do have a question, though: how difficult will it be to alter it so that it can play continuously without the end it has, as it will need to for use in Chrono Trigger +. (I can see a couple places where this theme in specific can be used, for instance.)

Oh, well if I get accepted and all, it'll be no problem for me to make it loopable. This is just a sample, after all.

EDIT: It wasn't really even for the hack or anything, but if you and Zakyrus think it'll be appropriate for some of the new locales, I'd of course be honored to polish it up.

Well, I think it would be, but, as I said, it's up to Zakkie.

Greetings all!  I've been lurking on the site for awhile now, but this project has inspired me to register and say just how awesome a job you guys are doing.  Chrono Trigger has always been my favorite game and seeing such a great expansion to it has left me mostly speechless.  Zakyrus and Kryonea and everyone else working on this, you guys are doing an awesome job.  I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us.  I'm looking forward to the next release of your work!    (^_^)b

P.S.  FalconHit, I'm having the same problems with blinking during battle as well, in fact it happens to any CT ROM's I've hacked.  Would you be so kind as to tell me what you did to fix that?  Thanks.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, I'm using ZSNES if that's a factor

Yggdrasill, thanks for your input(and everyone else for that matter), it's most appreciated.

Also, welcome to the forums! This is THE place to hang out at for anything Crono related. This is the center of the Cronoverse!

...As for the blinking battle effect, it drives me mad! (I also use ZSNES and it happens on every ROM I've hacked).

Now, since I have been kindof transient the last few weeks.... here is... A PRESENT! (some screen~shots of taunting-ness! )

More enhanced cuts!

More Layer3 stuff!

More enhanced dialouge!

Taste the spiteful sugar-coated wrath of Mt. Woe!

more screenies will come as I get more time to work on this...

..stay tuned!

Yeah... I don't really know... I had the previous version of ZSNES, so I updated to the newest one, I also re-downloaded the CT rom. But I don't really know how I fixed it.

Are you adding more tabs to the game by the way? If so I think you should add more magic tabs, there was way to many power tabs.

Wow, like a lot of people, I registered here just so I could say how amazing this is looking. Of course, it means I'll be waiting very (im)patiently until it's done.

Also, amazing track by DancemasterGlenn. Did you use finale to make it, or some other program?

I don't know if this is just me, but some of the music that was changed doesn't really fit in my opinion. Like when Tat's running away and it's the more serious urgent music rather than the goofy playful music.

Some other examples are the Cathedral when you save Leene, and the music in the Denadoro mountains.
They've both been changed, and personally I feel the original felt better.

Just throwing my opinion out there.

There will be the ability to synthesize items (tabs can be made in later versions by combining magical herbs) there will be much, much more to this.
