We have several items of business. Firstly, the existence of a Chrono Cross Demo Disc issued to game previewers before the game's release has been confirmed via mentions in previews, Mitsuda's liner notes, and music recorded from the demo disc featuring different instrument sampling in several songs. The Compendium will begin a formal search for the disc (or an .iso) soon, and the songs will be uploaded shortly. Secondly, Eminence has announced
A Night in Fantasia 2007, their latest VGM concert. Yoko Shimomura, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Junichi Nakatsuru, Masaru Shiina, and
Yasunori Mitsuda will be attending. Dates are set for the 20th, 21st, and 27th of April in Sydney and Melbourne Australia. The Compendium will monitor the site for the sale of tickets. Thirdly, Ted Woolsey recently did an interview for Player One. Find it
here; it is late in the podcast, so you might let it load and then skip around to the 40 minute
mark. Finally, forumers at Cocoebiz have found an interesting coincidence concerning a Norwegian, Celtic musician's song and Mitsuda's later seminal
Scars of Time. Does Mari Boine's work sound like the fast-paced opening of Scars of Time? Give it a
listen.
Now we come to specific site updates. Magus22 has interviewed Wayne of the Chrono Trigger Novel Project to provide an in-depth look at the project and its leader's aspirations. Read the feature
here. Molotov, the fastest Chrono Cross player this side of the dimensional distortion, has shared some of his wisdom on the
Cheats and Glitches page. Pay attention to the New Game + method of accessing the Hydra Marshes in Home World before crossing the dimensions. A few lost lines actually play in the marshes under this scenario, and I expect to update the Chrono Cross script to reflect this information and incorporate over a year of line placement advisement. Jessica Ingmann has noted minor palette differences between the menus of the Prerelease and other versions of Chrono Trigger; you can behold them
here. Next, the Cross encyclopedia has been enriched by the addition of Malebranche / Zelbess entries, the inclusion of the dream species characters in the character listing, and the addition of item description strings to all items, accessories, armor, weapons, and key items. Stay tuned in the coming month for the beginning of the Compendium's year round fan competitions, and keep submitting ideas to the
Summit for Chrono Break.
