It's about time this thread gets some lovin.
In keeping with my theory that art begets art, I constantly find myself scavenging the Internet(s) for Chrono-related fanarts for inspiration when writing fanfiction. And every once in a while I stumble upon a work that is just
so perfect in the way it encapsulates a character's personality or otherwise strikes the imagination. So fellow Compendiumites, what are your personal favorite Chrono fan artworks? Here's a few of mine:
Cyrus and Glenn, by CuteLucca
Original:
http://www.cutelucca.com/ctfanart.htmlYou don't see Cyrus drawn that often outside of Akira Toriyama's official art, which makes this CuteLucca piece a real treat. After seeing this, I could never envision these characters in any other way than how they appear here: Glenn slightly disheveled and eager to prove himself, though his gaze retains the edginess of having grown up with other kids beating the snot out of him constantly; Cyrus keeping a watchful eye on his adopted little bro'. And the attention to detail -- ah yes, the attention to detail...
From
ZealTrio, by Emperor Justin at DeviantArt
Original:
http://emperorjustin.deviantart.com/art/Zeal-Trio-FanArt-33355223This is part of a larger work from Emperor Justin. Schala's exquisitely moody and forlorn here, like she's had a
really depressing day -- like, a Lavos-waking-up kind of day. And perhaps neatest of all, the artist seems to have left the shape of her ears ambiguous. I prefer to think of Schala and even Magus as having normal ears, though I know lots of fans like their Zealians to be Elvish.
Title UnknownAck! I don't know who the artist is! If it's you, claim it and remind me where I found this.
Lucca is no longer nerdy - she's effin
stylish. Now, that's an RPG battle stance if I've ever seen one. Sans turtle helmet and with sledgehammer, this is the type of depiction that can totally change the course of a fanfic mid-conception; I'm never leaving Lucca out of a story if I can help it.
I think I've just about run the gamut of Chrono fanarts, but I'd pleasantly admit to being wrong about that. What interesting works have you folks come across?
