Toriyama is like Nomura, all his designs look the same. It gets boring very quickly.

Agreed, everyone ends up looking like Goku or Bulma.

Funny: The hero of Dragon Quest VIII looks like Pan.

Tetsuya Nomura would please the KH fan in me, but I think we should get either Yuuki in or Amano, as both have quite a deal of character design experience and don't tend to stick to one little constant theme like Nomura does.

Well, quite. With Nomura it's Emi, Emo and more emo- just look at Cloud, Squall, and Donald Duck ¬.¬
cloud and squall dont look emo, compared to the ones you see around here they look like normal people.
squall just acts emoish for a large amount of the game.

They certainly act emo.
squall doesn't like other people, cloud had his memory fucked during the point when he acted like that.
at no point did they break down and cry over everything, utterly hate themselves for no reason, or were unable to control their emotions.
no they didnt really act emo squall only got like the at points during his anti social stage and being anti social dosnt classify something as emo. hell do you even know what emo means anyway.

Squall is an emo, and Cloud still acts emo even in AC. And all through FFVII.

On the topic of completely different designers, the guy who did the two GC Zelda's is awesome. So is the guy who did Okami. I dunno ;___; Definitely not Tetsuya Nomura though. We do NOT want emo-Crono. Ugh...

Huh? The first time I read this post, I mistakingly thought about Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask... but you actually want the guy who designed The Wind Waker?

I can't imagine him designing the characters of the Chrono series :/

That's a good point actually.  But I maintain my position, perhaps out of crabby stubbornness..

The characters in TWW and TP are vastly superior to the ones in OoT and MM. TWW is a bit childish for Chrono series, I agree- but TP proves that the designer can design amazing realistic characters too.

Wow. You have to resort to insults. I'm awed. *applauds*

Oh yeah, if you count Twilight Princess then yeah the character design is great. (I thought you were counting Four Sword Adventures or something.)

That guy's artworks have the same kind of "painting" feeling that the art director Yasuyuki Honne shows in Chrono Cross (and Baten Kaitos). This would definitely be interesting.

wow you think i'm actually insulting you, im serious learn the meaning of what you say it might clear up your "lol emo" veiw on character psyche.

oh and about TP proving that character designers can create realistic characters, did you see the upped poly count version of OoT's Link? it looks just as realistic as TP's the new designs didn't really prove much.

...

I won't even give the 'LOL EMO' thing a dignified response.

Uh, right. Because poly count equals design. Because OoT Link has textured SEWING on his tunic. Because Link, a character that the designer was merely updating, is representative of what the designer can do. Riiiiiiiiight. Check out Midna if you want a well-designed TP character.

TWW has a nice style too, but it's a bit too kiddy for Chrono. But TP was done by the Yoshiyuki Oyama too.

Define "emo". It'd really clear things up for on just why you think Squall's "emo".

did i ever mention poly count equals design? the upped poly count version of Link shows what his design would have looked like with roughly the same limitations the TP model has. TP's drawn concepts arn't "vastly superiour" as you put it, they have more detail drawn in but the design doesn't have and major improvements, just a style change.

i wasn't expecting a dignified response on "lol emo" why the hell would I with something like that, i was just poking fun at your "solitary prefering character must be emo lol" veiw that you see in all the little immature kids.
