the opening theme of Kiki's Delivery Service

What a coincidence.
On the bus on my way home, I listened to this theme. The beautiful sky of the evening sunset over the gigantic steel and concrete skeletons of a bridge under construction just perfectly fitted it. But soon another song from My Neighbour Totoro gave an completely different nostalgic feeling and put me deeply in thought. :P

Speaking of Miyazaki, I am so pumped that Ni no Kuni was announced for the United States. I cannot wait! Here's hoping that the DS version also makes a State-side release...

Re-watched Kino's Journey today, even though I've been a fan of it since before I joined the Compendium. Saw the last few episodes too. It was... it was... *bangs desk, cries his heart out*  WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!

You guys ever have an anime, movie, music, art, book, etc. that simply defines your existence? Well, for me... this is it. This is the fairy tale I grew up with. This will be the fairy tale to aid my journey. If I was ever religious, then my faith would be the...

Ha! I love little coincidences like that.

It must be very satisfying for one's music to touch so many people so far across the world. =)

You guys made me want to watch a Miyazaki film again, so I put in the only one I own... Damn, I've missed out on many of his films. The only ones I've seen are Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Spirited Away (once), and Kiki's Delivery Service (loooong ago). I feel I've missed out on part of my childhood now. :(

In happier news, I love using my camera. Caught a few photos of a snapping turtle the other day. I wanted to keep it...

Which one do you own?

Snapping turtles are amassing their forces, biding their time. Be ware!

It's a Kodak EasyShare C195. Not real fancy, but it's portable and gets the job done rather well.

Here's the lil' bugger. I'm quite sure it's a snapping turtle, from the way it wanted to eat my fingers, but I could be mistaken.

EDIT: Oh, haha! I see you were talking about the movie! I own Howl's Moving Castle. I really want to see Nausicaä, but I've only seen the $30 Blue-Ray in stores. I should keep an eye out next time I visit a Blockbuster.

Found out today that I've been accepted at the university I wanted to go to as a geology/physics double major. WOOT.

I am very happy, but this is so not going to be easy, haha...

Congrats RW! Hey, from what I hear you could become an oil tycoon if you go to Texas with that kind of degree...

Hey, the children of SoY never want it easy. We pray for life to get tough, just so we can conquer the unconquerable and show the world just how awesome we are! :kz

First, congratulations RW. That is an excellent school.

Booooooo so few humanities majors.  I think Thought and I are some of the only ones.

I always joke when my wife and I meet someone new: because she did something useful (science), I get to study history.

Heh, I swear that's how D and I are going to be seen.  He studied communications which I think is still humanities, but it's a field of study that people consider more "useful" than literature.  And he now has a job where he can use his degree.  I'm still jobless.  XP

I love, love, LOVE summer being officially over.  For the next six months I can be happy again.  =)
