It's surprising just how many names begin with the letter J, given how uncommon the letter is in the language generally, and how new it is in the English language when compared to other letters. Some of it, I think--perhaps even much of it--is because of old Hebraic influences, which originated many enormously popular J names through the letter Y, such as Josh, Jesus (which is really just a corruption of Josh), James, John, Joel, Joseph, Jack, and of course the classic corny names Jeremiah and Jedediah! And that's just on the male side.

I for one have been perfectly happy to tell people that I am named after the tree.

I always seem to read your chicken posts when I'm caught in the midst of performing an abomination upon poultrykind. When you posted those pictures the other day, I was boiling chicken eggs. When you posted your most recent comment, I was eating chicken flesh from my over-greased tom kha soup. And now as I write this I'm boiling more eggs!

"Hey, Josh, wanna see my new chicken pictures?"
"Oh, sure, Shee, let me just step away from my chicken pot pie..."

Ah...the realities of the food chain make life a lot more interesting for those at the top, and do tend to have a rich complicating effect on philosophy!
