utunnels, have you ever done much in the way of speedreading? I find that it's the only way I have time to read a novel here and there anymore, and surprisingly my comprehension and recall of the story (even details) doesn't seem to be all that affected. I heard about a person who's eidetic memory lasted into adulthood, they could read 2 pages at a time, flipping pages every few seconds. there was another person who could read diagonally across paragraphs and the info would sort of process in real time while they read at quadruple speed, so a second break or so between paragraphs and voila, 10 seconds per page and you can finish a whole book in less than 4 hours, just like radical dreamers.
