...you've got me. The only way I could still see Kino coming out of the Gate at all is if the Planet set the Gate up long before the actual year of 65,000,000 B.C. for whatever reason and it just sat there unused until Crono and the gang fall out of it right into a Reptite ambush.

The Planet DOES care about humans, by the way. Turnip himself comments that he can hear the Planet "Crying. She wants humans and Dragonians to stop fighting and get along."

And? It isn't in the interests of the world to have a harmful war going on. I don't see anyone saying that the Planet is sad for the humans in particular.

The conversation goes on a bit, but the general theme is that the Planet cares about it's children nigh-unconditionally, the classic "Mother Nature" persona.

Hmmm... Looks like I'm going to have to play through Chrono Cross for much of the discussion here...

Regardless, I still think the theory that Kino created a gate when he was found to be rather far fetched due to the other people in that period not creating gates.

Those two points aren't even related, regardless of what either of us think.

Kino probbly was just a baby left on Mystic mt. by neglectful parents. Finding a baby crying his brains out all alone might have mystified tha cave peeple becuz, well, they're cave peeple. Oooooo magic baby, have no parents, come from magic, mystic land from tha sky. This mystic place where we find magic baby. This Mystic Mt.!!! He WAS important 2 the timeline, being Marles  ancestor and all, but not enough to cause a time warp. And if Leah really is Aylas mother sent thru time to 1020 AD.,then she would be more important 2 the timeline than Kino, yet she didn't show up till AFTER crono and co. changed history. All in all, I think that gate was created so crono and co. could witness Lavos's fall, and possibly 4 Marle to come in contact with her distant Ancestor, just so everything in CT could come 2gether more smoothly at tha end.
Sorry 4 such a long post

AT said that the gate was their due to the fact that they found Kino there.

Those two points aren't even related, regardless of what either of us think.

Erm, how? if Kino's discovery created a gate then logically when all the other human males at that point were introduced into society then a gate would be created then. Kino is not an exception in any way at all.

A Gate being created in response to Kino's existence is not the same as Kino actually creating the Gate.

Except he IS for starting the most important line in the history of the human race.

He still indirectly triggered the gate's creation, although my wording was wrong, I admit.

He didn't start it; I could argue that his father did. You can't place the 'founding' of a family line for certain.

Kind of. His parents then also started that line. But over 65,000,000 years, he's simply an ancestor, he can't be called the direct reason for the line being created. Heck, he could have favored one of his children that didn't end up being in the Guardia line.

I say that the most important line is the Zealian, that pretty much wont continue, but the Schala and Magus remain o.o
Guardia is just important for some sort of plot. Marle could have been any random person, and the Guardia line is probably kept by the name, not by the blood. When Lucca showed the little scenario of how Marle would dissapear if her ancestors were gone, it makes it look like the Guardia line is matrilineal. And then again, the Chancellor showed how easy it is for the ruling line to just end.
