DJs and kittens;scratches

Does anybody know any tricks to getting a scratched ps2 game to work? And nobody better say "Buy the game again" or I will personally find you and punch you in the throat.

Your best bet is to try and clean it, or take it to a nearby computer store that can restore scratched discs.

Failing that, you've got two options:
1. Download the game off of a torrent site somewhere and emulate it on your PC, which will be difficult to do without a upper mid-range to high range computer.
2. Go to a nearby video game rental store, rent the game in question, and switch the discs.

Either option is potentially illegal and could easily land you in trouble, so I really suggest getting the disc repaired first.

I'm pretty sure downloading the game when you already have the cd isn't illegal.
But yeah, there are disc cleaning devices, easy to use.

By a CD/DVD fixer machine. A good one can grind away a thin amount of the plastic and polish it off, removing all of the shallow scratches, while at the same time filling deeper scratches and polishing them clear. It won't work every time, but it's worth it for a favorite game that's hard to find.

Then once the games are fixed, invest in some money into some d-skins for them. Then they won't get scratched up any worse.

Wow, I just popped the disc out and popped it back in and it started working. This used to work on my ps1 games. I wonder if this always works...

My PSX got finicky around it's last days (now it's just my CD player) too...

But, I'll back up the idea to just get it GameDoctor'd...I got one of the old handcrank models, myself and once it even made it so that a CD with a small CRACK in it played flawlessly...now I just need a new repair wheel (& I guess some more filtered water)...V_V
