I'm so sad, what can I do?
« on: May 18, 2007, 04:50:12 pm »
Hey guys, just signed up here.  I love CT, its probably my favorite RPG of all time.

Last night I started playing Chrono Cross and realized the whole game has been ruined for me through spoilers on the net.  It's devastating.  I simultaneously desire to play the game because I want to experience it and am bummed out about already knowing everything.  Maybe if I wait long enough my mind will forget or block it out.

Very blue here guys.  Anyways, nice to make your acquaintances.  Nice site and all.   :(

I knew the ending of Chrono Cross before I played it too. It didn't ruin the game. Cross is a rich experience to savor and enjoy. Soak up the atmosphere and music of El Nido.

Yeah, CC is one of the best RPGs ever, that includes gameplay, music, characters, etc

Yeah, there's a valid schoolof thought that Cross can't be truly enjoyed unless you already know what's going on. I mean, while Cross's plot is good, if a bit complex, the delivery is the game's biggest flaw. Most people get to the end and don't really know what's going on, me included. Seriously, knowinthat Lynx's lines about there being a great emnity and history and whatnot was just gibberish would've been a comfortmy first time through...

So in summary: enjoy Cross for the beautiful art, loquacious writing, endearing character design, brilliant battle system, etc., and enjoy actually knowing what's going on!

I didn't know the ending of CC when I played it the first time (before it I had finished CT about 2 times, so I had some essential knowledge). I must admit that I didn't know what's going on when I got to the end the first time, but at the second time my awareness about the story was fairly bigger. I truly enjoyed that I could discover everything on my own (ofcourse I also enjoyed Cross for the beautiful art etc.). Only then I read some explanations about CC and CT.

Yeah ^^^^that's what I wish I would have done but whatever, too late to go back now.  I guess I will have to try to enjoy it with the spoiler knowledge intact.

You know the spoilers, but you haven't seen them in action. It's a very different experience, so go right ahead and enjoy the game. Nothing bad can come out of it. :D
