character in Chrono Cross looks a lot like Crono
« on: June 29, 2007, 02:34:57 am »
Anyone else notice that  the Marbule's Sage(I think that is his name) looks a lot like Crono? Or am I just losing it?

http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/4594/sagefrq4.gif

It says he's a demi human and all and for all I know there is something that could explain it (the fact that i'm looking at this picture at 1 AM could be one)

or the story might but my game freezes at the part where you go back in time to Lucca's house in the fire. (glares at game)

but when I first saw him I thought, hey that kinda looks like Crono ya know, except older.

Yeah, just give him some hair dye, age him, and you got a Crono cameo.

Exchange "looks a lot like" with "has a bandanna like" and you're on to something...trivial!

No, his hairstyle is totally different from Crono's. May not look like that in the portrait, but just take a close look at his character on the maps and in battle. Also the Sage is white innate. If he would be Crono wouldn't he be yellow innate? Crono was lightning, after all. Finally, Crono also appears in Chrono Cross. It would be very weird if he appeared in his child form, AND some sort old demi-human grandpa.

And I think we all can assume Crono died when Guardia was overthrown (by Porre?).

We're also told to ignore those children. It's not actually them (the ones on the beach are debatable, I suppose).

And we can all assume that, but we may be wrong. There's no solid proof.

I do think it was actually them, although they were most likely no longer alive. Maybe they were spirits, or shadows from time, who knows.

And there's no solid proof, yeah, but since Crono most likely became the new king of Guardia (assuming he married Nadia), and Guardia was destroyed, it would be strange if Crono would be still alive. Or anyone who lived in Guardia. I also think Glenn somehow was killed in this battle, since in one of the CT FMV's you can see the Masamune covered in blood. Glenn has probably been killed wielding the Masamune.

Well, he's way too old to be Chrono. There's not that much time between CT and CC. Could be Chrono's dad, far as we know.

Personally I think it would have been funny to find out that Crono was hiding in discuies to avoid the Porre army that wanted him dead, but really he looks way to old, and aside from the bandanna not all that much like Crono

Also the Sage is white innate. If he would be Crono wouldn't he be yellow innate.

No Crono would have been White in CC. Yellow was inanimate earth in CC (rock, sand, etc), and since Crono's element was Heaven/Sky (Lightning) White would be the best fit for Crono.

I guess so then. But it's not him, I played through the Marbule part again yesterday, and the Sage has his hair in two long tails and his hat doesn't look like Crono's at all.

Um...How could we say the Sage is Crono...considering Crono died?  Also, if it was Crono, you would think he'd tell them about his "past adventures."

We don't know whether or not Crono died. We don't even know if he was present at the fall of Gaurdia.

Some say Miguel is Crono too.

For me, I think Crono died at the Fall of Guardia. You're right, we don't know for sure, but I just think it happened that way.

Also, something else: I thought ALL the inhabitants from El Nido were either workers from Chronopolis or descendants of those workers?
If that is the case, there's no way Crono is around. Or any other character we knew from Chrono Trigger. (Of course, the "Ghost" Children, Schala, and Lavos are exceptions, but Schala and Lavos aren't in El Nido and the Ghost Children don't really exist.)
