Magus Vs. Sephiroth

I was thinking about this while watching advent children, who would win? In my personal opinion, I think... uhhh... I think... Gah, it's to hard for me to decide.

Oh, wait...

Anyway, I am not responsible for any mess, australian-style barbecue or nuclear disaster that occurs due to this thread.

Both characters are awesome i must say. ( Awesome as in...Awe inspiring, not Awesome as in "hehe, Sephiroth pwns he so awesome, teh n00b")

However, CT was the first RPG I played, I played it when I was 12, and honestly, at that age, your easily influenced, and this game got to me, and still does. The game was a incredible experience for me, and then I see Magus, some dark, villian like character, and then I later find out you can play as him. That, was just simply the best.

So for me, I guess it boils down to which character got to you/affected you most, and it would be Magus.


( Magus pwns anyway, so who cares about the rant  :lol: )

Magus vanishes into thin air everytime there's "too much characters" (see Chrono Cross). So, since Sephiroth has so much clones of himself, he instantly wins, sorry.

Naw, Magus was just too busy to be in CC, since he was off kickin ass in Radical Dreamers. Eh? And using that little bit of RD that appears in CC, technically he IS in CC! Or something...

I dunno, Magus seems to have more depth than Sephiroth. Sephiroth just seems like a generic 'mad villain' character. Sure he had a cool reason to be a mad villain, but it's not as psychologically compelling as say... Silent Hill 4's pseudo-antagonist Walter Sullivan. I think Walter's story was enough to make me actually feel for the character. Sephiroth just did stuff that made you hate him.

Magus makes you feel for him a little too-- he was rejected by his mother, he was the 'outcast' in Zeal who was unable to use magic, and his only loved one, the girl who cared for him when no one else would, Schala, was tossed out into god-knows-where time/space. He spends his life searching for her, and y'never really know if he's gonna find her in his life time.

AND V IS TEH OVERRATED~~!!!

Yeah, one of the most poignant lines about Sephiroth comes from AC's opening:

It would seem so easy for some little kid to say "AHHAA WOW HE  HATES EVERYTHING..>SO FRICKIN COOL", bleah. But if you can grasp that aspect of his character on the level the developers intended, it transcends that "SEPHIROTHLOL" feeling. Especially if you've experienced those sentiments...
