What characters are you guys using? I don't own a Wii, but I know someone whose religion is Smash Brothers. We played it last Friday night.
For the record, I grew up on Smash Brothers N64; I used Pikachu to great success with a thousand papercuts strategy. I was best among my peers except someone who used Mario (and Mario with a beam sword is basically cheating; N64 has crappy hit detection for Smash). However, three years ago I got sick and tired of Pikachu and switched to Captain Falcon. I seem to hold speed in the highest regard in most games I play, and this is no different; Falcon also has a bunch of hard Smash moves for N64.
But I didn't bother with Melee. I'm all set for Brawl, though, since I discovered that yes, I CAN jump by pressing a button (I hate hitting up to jump; it's so unreliable). But I can't find my character yet. I've tagteamed as Dedede with someone playing Kirby, but that doesn't work if the other team singles me out since Dedede is so damn slow. I tried Falcon, but I can't find good Smash moves with him (as opposed to Dedede, who knocks people out of the park if he connects). That said, the Final Smash thing is awesome; Snake's is friggin' cool and Falcon's is just hilarious. I ran over poor Lucas with the Blue Falcon.
